Whats the point of all this again? you asked us If R.O.B broke Smashes rule, we tell you no, But you keep bringing up reasons why thats not the case, So whatever man if you think he broke it fine, But Nobody else here thinks so. Its his game anyway.
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!

Sorry for not being active much recently, but I’m very much alive!
The reason why R.O.B doesn't break the rules, is given that R.O.B was made with the intention to be sold with video games. That's pretty much it. Characters like Goku can't get in, since he was made for a manga/anime in mind, and games only came as a consequence of that.
Geralt from Witcher probably could make it in, given the video game is what most people know the series for, and not the novels that the game were based on.
As for Dracula, the one that's in smash is specifically Castlevania's Draclua, and not the one from the movies/stories, so that counts as a video game character.

@Snatcher
The response of @Eel seems pretty convincing to me
And if we use that logic then a lot of things in smash make sense
Like greninja final smash for example
@Snatcher
Yeah, I know
But I did not know that "video game originated content" could be anything that originates from the video game world and not just originated from videogames, back when i started the topic.
@VoidofLight
Do you know He Man? He originates from a toy line by Mattel but he is mostly known by his tv show. But the irony is that the TV show was supposed to increase the sales of the toys.
In other words, He Man was made with the toy line in mind but most people know him by the TV show
It's like your first 2 arguments contradicting each other. And in my opinion, that's not good.
I still agree with your dracula argument though
@LucaAntinori It only contradicts the argument with Geralt, and even then.. it could still work, seeing as the He-Man comparison is an entirely different thing, given He-Man isn't a video game series that a company was known for.

IMO, if we're debating about if non-videogame media was made as a fighter in smash despite the director crearly saying that wouldn't be the case, then it's not too crazy to take non-videogame media examples to make comparisons.
But let's assume that your first and third arguments are still on the table (because they are) and let's get rid of the gerald one (because the comparison contradicts it)
I think we have a solid case here.
R.O.B. is made with gaming in mind and his incarnation in smash is a fictional robot rather than the accesory for the NES. I think it works pretty good
@LucaAntinori He-man was created as a result of Conan the Barbarian. Originally the toy line was meant to tie in with the Schwarzenegger movie but fearing that parents would object to a kids toy tied to a property that has violence, and sex in it they changed the line to He-man and needed something to promote the toy line, and explain who He-man was and his story.
Rob was introduced to make parents think that the Nintendo was an electronic toy in NA because of the Video Game Crash. So in a way he is a video game character as he wasn't designed for a TV series, movie, comic etc. and that's why he doesn't break that rule.
@Tasuki
Dude, where did you get that info? The fact that both mattel and nintendo manage to work around problems like that is amazing in it's own right. You have a solid argument there
@LucaAntinori It's been documented in countless places for both things. In fact if you want to know more about Rob which will end this silly argument you I suggest checking out Norm the Gaming Historians video on Rob.
Its not going to work, Whats next, Spongbob can be In smash bc he has had a good video game?
I'm up for that. They can add Madden, Tom Clancy, Tony Hawk, James Bond or Goku too and I wouldn't have a problem as at least they are from more popular and historic games than Fatal Fury or Bayonetta.
The whole thing is silly. Does the snobbery of "it didn't start as a game" mean you're not gonna play or never did play Goldeneye, Batman Arkham Asylum, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, FIFA etc?
@Snatcher
Well
Spongebob was made with the TV show in mind and it's not like the game is more popular than the show that nickelodeon is exploiting to its limits to the point of HAVING 3 SPONGEBOB CHARACTERS IN NICKELODEON ALL STAR BRAWL when most IPs hardly get 2
@jump
It seems that if the character wasn't born in the videogame world (as part of a videogame or rather a part or accesory for a console) they can't be in smash unless the incarnation of that chatacter is unique to the video game world (like castlevania's dracula, and kratos and zeus from god of war)
Since every game example you mention has the non-videogame media incarnation {the football players, tony hawk is just tony kawk, the goldeneye videogame characters are the same from the movie (vidence by the fact that 007 recreates the movie), and the batman in asylum is the one from mythos series} they probably won't be in smash even with those great games (except fifa, ea sucks)
