Topic: Does Home button on Switch always pause cutscenes?

More specifically I was playing Final Fantasy 7 and had to leave during one of the long cutscenes. The plus button didn’t pause so I pressed Home. When I came back and pressed Home again it was still playing the cutscene but I wasn’t sure whether it actually paused it or not. I guess my question pertains to whether Home button definitely pauses during cutscenes or a battle. This I was never sure on and not all games let you pause during a cutscene, credits or a battle. This question applies to all Switch games not just FF7. I couldn’t find a definite answer on this on the Internet.

@Don Yes

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

@Don : It depends on the software, but returning to the Home screen almost always pauses the game.

The main exception will be online games, as they may continue running in the background or you may be disconnected from the game whilst in the Home menu.

"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"

Ok cool, I hope all the Switch Final Fantasy games pause with Home button. I’ll have to test 9, X/X-2 and XII when I get these games later.

@Don No it does not. I have played some games where pressing the home button does not actually stop the game. Like @Silly_G said, online games often do not stop - sometimes even if you aren't playing online. SAO Fatal Bullet does not stop even playing single player, for example.
