@DjLewe78: Kinda like Guerilla style marketing? Don't reveal it but start putting the puzzle pieces out on the internet and have an official reveal later?

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

@DjLewe78: That would be a lot of fun. They could even make it into a AR type game... that would actually be an amazing way to announce a new Console lol

I must admit I'm a little bit more cautious when people ask me whether or not they should buy a Wii U lately. Though I am still even more cautious about the 3DS, especially the New 3DS. I still lean towards yes because there's content worth playing on both. Also that if you wait for the next thing you'll never buy any tech. But I'm still far more cautious recommending either than I was a couple of years ago.

If you look at the general consensus amongst the Nintendo "influencers" though I'm not typical. Most seem to work under the assumption that the 3DS is going to be around for years. On the home console side the assumption is that the NX is a home console launching next month that will be 10x more powerful than the PS4 and get all of the third party support ontop of all the Wii U's last games.

And maybe they're happy with most people not talking about a 3DS successor. Maybe it is a home console but they know that as soon as it's announced we start looking at the 3DS. Maybe it's a portable and they're happy with the influencers being off track. Maybe it somehow influences both markets and they're happy with only one being hit.

"Don't stir the pot" is a nice way of saying "they're too dumb to reason with"
