I'm going to say no. But if it ever does happen, it would be one of the biggest deals in modern gaming for me and I would explode!

It wouldn't be the same version as the Rare Replay on Xbox as that one had to have installs, run in backwards compatibly mode etc so it's alot more work to be done than just porting it over.

That's what I am still waiting for to happen but might not because of the way the cart slides into the Switch and amount sticking out might cause some issues. I would like if it has something like the 3DS version that would be something to play with and use to see what happens with RareReplay. This would be something to see if they can make one.

@Slowdive If Microsoft truly cares about PC gaming they'll sort out that problem for a PC version and then they'd port it to Switch because it's a Nintendo-like product like Ori and Cuphead.

I doubt it ever will for one thing alot of those games run off of emulating the Xbox 360 and second it's a selling point for MS.

Honestly if Switch owners want to play it so bad they can pick up an Xbox One pretty cheap nowadays and play it that way.

On Spawnwave's podcast last week, it was mentioned that there were discussions back in 2019 to bring Rare Replay to the Switch with the 360 games left off for other Rare games like the SNES DKC games and DK64. To anyone's knowledge, it only got so far as discussions, but could still happen at some point. I'd buy it.

Love anything Zelda. Most other Ninty franchises too! Purposely vague...

@Slowdive I would buy a battle toads port.

I do think Microsoft should just release the 64 games in two game bundles. Nintendo fans will gripe about the price but god knows they will also open their wallets.

I really hope so. What’s holding them back? Microsoft IPs?

I would rather see it included as part of Switch Gamepass than as a full price stand alone title.

@Mr-Fuggles777 I’d rather be able to download it than to stream it. But to each their own.

@sixrings you do download games on Console, you only stream gamepass games on mobile. I think there may be a cloud option on PC as well but I don't really play it much on the laptop to say either way.

@Mr-Fuggles777 I doubt Switch GamePass would download things to your system, even if it happened. It'd either have to stick to almost exclusively indie and older games or, and I think this is more likely, be a streaming-focused app. Can't exactly download games to the system that were never ported in the first place.

@Ralizah I didn't think of that, the only problem then is that not every game is available to stream on Mobile so it would likely be the same on Switch.
On the plus side I've just put Rare Replay on to download as I fancy some Viva Pinata after talking about it.

@Mr-Fuggles777 Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise is unironically my favorite game from Rare. There's an addictive mix of cute and disturbing elements that you don't see a lot of outside of Pikmin (ignoring more forced attempts at that sort of fusion, like Bugsnax).

I know Nintendo and it's fans are big on nostalgia but if Rare Replay did come to the Switch I'd probably be playing the post-Nintendo games more than Banjo, Conker etc as more of a chance to look at what happened to Rare. Conker's BFD is particular hasn't aged well, it's the video game equivalent of watching the first Scary Movie today. I did like Viva Pinata and I'm curious enough about Perfect Dark Zero and Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts to play them but I can't bring myself to actually buy them so a collection bundle is the best place for them, it's like hiding medicine with a spoonfull of sugar so you don't notice it's there.

Had been playing Rare Replay on Xbox One S recently and I love it - it would just feel 'right' to play both proper Banjo games and CBFD on a Nintendo console again.

And they should chuck DK64 and Diddy Kong racing on the collection for good measure.

No. Then again Banjo and Kazooie came to Smash so its not entirely impossible.

To me it feels a bit like Microsoft would like it because it is promotion for them (Like Banjo Kazooie in smash is also promotion for them, but Nintendo let it happen because there was huuuge demand for it. But that's of course not the leading argument), but Nintendo would hate it because it reminds of the golden times of Nintendo when Nintendo had such a awesome company like Rareware in their portfolio. Nintendo and Rareware where the masters back in the day. Of course Nintendo should have never sold Rareware. But yeah, greed...

So much time has passed after Rarereplay...I don't see it happening anymore. But if it would happen and at retail I would buy it in a heartbeat!
