One guy guessed a lizard. Shoulda known a bat was involved, too. Not many other choices for winged creature, and it wouldn't be a B-K successor without a double jump...
I still need to see what they're able to show off in the Kickstarter. I'm more hopeful than I was before...or at least more desperate...
I remember guessing way back that Yooka would be a chameleon. I also remembered thinking Laylee wouldn't be a bird. Never would have guessed a bat though. XD
They should get clothing or gear as the game progresses. They've already got some pretty awesome skills.
Some more info from their site (a.k.a. more Yooka-Laylee stuff tomorrow, including music samples):
''Tomorrow we’ll publish loads more Yooka-Laylee media (will there be David Wise and Grant Kirkhope tunes? You bet your pedigree gerbil there will be) alongside an interview with their father, Mr. Steven… sorry, Steve Mayles himself.
And then at 5pm BST on Friday it’s the big one, the launch of our Yooka-Laylee Kickstarter campaign. When we first discussed this project the reaction was immense. You flocked to our shop doors like eager amiibo scalpers, and your mouths were full of requests.''
I know this will sound bad but I think it will make too much money for the funding. I'm almost positive whatever total They put up will be met in 5 days or less. I'm all for the funding and hope it does well but how much is too much?

There's not really a "too much". It costs a LOT of money to pay several industry professionals for their work, and any extra will go to adding free content, porting the game, or even go straight to supporting the devs for their fine work. Just as well, most people use Kickstarter as a pre-order of sorts, so the amount they'll get depends on the demand. They've already established that there's a huge demand, so the sky's the limit.
Interesting, I like some of the moves they're giving the characters, it really helps to distinguish them from Banjo and Kazooie. I also like that Yooka can roll continuously unlike Banjo, that will make traversing the levels a lot easier.
The first thing I thought was "thank goodness they aren't ugly", not that Banjo and Kazooie were ugly, but it woulda been a mess if we have a great game coming with awkward characters. We all know how people felt after seeing Nuts & Bolts redesigns.

Yeah seriously. Microsoft's gotten Banjo, Kazooie, and Conker's character designs wrong every time. These guys definitely understand good character design.
