With regards to Blazing Star - try to follow the superplay videos, try this one -

I wouldn't worry about milking the level 1 boss the way these guys do, that is incredibly difficult to do and I never bothered to learn it myself. Just make sure you collect every blue jewel that you see appearing on screen, if you miss one then your bonus resets back and you have to start again. Collecting these is how you get those big scores.

Try to time your charge shots to coincide with the waves of enemies appearing on screen. Chaining together lots of kills is another way of getting high scores.

@Daftbomb As far as I'm aware it's the winners choice and then whoever wants to take part, does. So presumably if STEREDENN was chosen. We'd go for it. Bloody hard game thus far ☺️

For the next challenge what about Nam 75, Metal Slug or Zed Blade? What your guys opinions on these games?

@wasilewski Happy with any of those. Have played them using emulation previously but not yet bought them for Switch. Unless, by METAL SLUG you mean X or 3. I already own those two.

Scratch that suggestion though, just had a first run through of Seredenn and was on second boss of the new lap when it crashed (thats twice now) lost my 25million highscore 😖. Worth noting the crashes in case anyone does pick the game, at least until its patched (i hope)

@Daftbomb That's harsh man. I believe the developer is aware of the crash issue and are working on a Patch.

@Lroy oh excellent news, relieved to hear that. At least I kept my unlock of the 5th ship (that was a tricky battle)

It would seem the Specialist ship is causing me to crash with scary regularity since I unlocked it yesterday. Could not even finish my Daily Run without crashing back to the dashboard twice in a row. Let us hope that patch comes up fast, because I saw a Dyson Sphere for the first time yesterday! what else could be hidden in this awesome game?

@CW13 @Jbs-Dad Check out some of these videos posted, and get them multipliers, blue jewels, and Lucky Panels! There's always a chance that the next run is your best one!

@wasilewski Metal Slug and Zed Blade I'd be more interested in. I'd still play Nam, though. The challenge I put for myself is to play anything and score, regardless of interest.

Okay, last bit of admin in response to @qualitybeats suggestions regarding keeping this thread to specifically the weekly game challenges, set game picks, scores - pics and videos, strategies, new recruit handshakes/welcomes et. al.

My best score is 850,000 I was 80th on leader board. If I can just get my best run in I know I could get near the million.. Thanks for the tips everyone it's been fun

I haven't played NAM but came close to buying it in the past. I wasn't a big fan of Operation Wolf back in the day but that could have been more to do with the crappy Speccy port rather than the game itself.

Gunbarich is great, in the unlikely event I ever win the weekly challenge that will be my pick.

I played Aero Fighters 3 earlier and while I like it, I'm a little disappointed at how short the stages are. Seems to be all about the boss fights which themselves don't seem to take any longer to defeat than in AF2.

NAM-1975 would be a nice warm-up for the incoming WILD GUNS. The latter SNES game is remastered and coming around Easter I think?

I'll play anything and participate whenever humanly possible. So happy with whatever is chosen.

Another weekly challenge where I continue the trend of setting a respectable score early in the week and not being able to beat it no matter what I do.

I'm having a cup of coffee then going to see what I can do with this fella.
