Well done!! I cannot get near that score.

84,000 is the best I could do, 18th on the global boards. I only got to play last night and today, so not too bad.

This was a great selection, really enjoyed this game.

Remember how we were just talking about how Nuclear Throne couldn't be ported to Switch because there was no GameMaker support for the system?

That should make it a bit easier.
Even if the devs for some reason aren't interested in doing a Switch port, this news will mean a metric ton of new indie games coming to the platform starting around the summer.

That direct sounds great! I’m still at work but reading about it online. My only sadness is I just picked up Okami on the PS4 and now it’s comin to my preferred Switch. Arrrgh! I wish I’d waited,

If we are taking a week off, then I would suggest Star Force! (Have you seen that top score!!! Going to take a fortnight to get that down lol)

We need to gather a committee and figure out the rules and regulations of this leaderboard thing. Until then which I think Should be real soon I Say we keep this first Season going. Lets Spend the weekend figuring out how these boArds Are going to run As we continue Its importAnt.

There are some MASSIVE titles I really enjoyed on my PC that would look RAD on my Switch - Momodora, Valdis Story, Hyper Light Drifter, Savant Ascent (what a great shooter!), Maldita Castilla... and I could go on forever. Man I'm salivating right now.

Came back to talk about the Nintendo Direct and I got this in my notification que. I suppose it’s too late to show my skills?

@Kyloctopus We do a new game each week so please do participate in those.

So far we've done PULSTAR, AERO FIGHTERS 2, SHOCK TROOPERS and most recently MUTATION NATION.

As well as the weekly score rankings, I think @oorwullie is also planning to post an 'all-time and ongoing' NL community rankings. So you can still post scores for inclusion on all past games featured.

What did you fellas make of the Direct then? I know some of us are in a pretty small minority in terms of what we'd like to have seen announced - no arcade games mentioned at all. Nothing on Nintendo's Arcade Archives schedule. No MARIO + RABBIDS DLC date. No FIRE EMBLEM Switch either. Presume that's now Q4 and will be shown at E3?

Anyway, I still came away thinking it was pretty good but on closer inspection nothing really leaps out as something I really want. Don't get me wrong. I'd play LUIGI's MANSION and really, really loved CAPTAIN TOAD: TEASURE TRACKER on Wii U but can't say either are top priority Day 1 purchases for me. Both KIRBY STAR ALLIES and MARIO TENNIS ACES are likely purchases but again, I could see myself buying other Switch games over them if there was more 1st party games announced to compete with them.

My son on the other hand is super excited about the Octo Expansion for SPLATOON 2. He is also excited for SMASH on Switch having enjoyed the 3DS demo. I've not owned or played any SMASH BROS. game since BRAWL on the original Wii. Again, like KIRBY and MARIO TENNIS, SMASH is a game I'll probably buy but more for my son than me.

Not trying to put a downer on the Direct. I'm well used to seldom having a game announcement make me feel it was right up my alley. Keen to hear what you guys are most excited about from what was shown.

Sorry for late update I'll be back home by the evening. I'm not sure how active I'll be over the next couple of weeks as I've got a lot on my plate at the moment . I'll still be able to take part in the challenges just not as much as I'd normally but keeping on top of the leaderboard activity and updating it on time might be difficult. Once I'm settled back in Thailand then I'll be fully on it.

Any assistance in getting the midweek and final leaderboards out in time over this period would be much appreciated. Cheers.

Seems a pretty decent Direct to me! Okami HD & Crash Trilogy took me by surprise, then Mario Aces showcase that left me wanting for more. Before the Direct I'd never thought of buying a "mario tennis" game, but the arcade gameplay feels solid and entertaining so I think I'll pull the trigger on that.

@Lroy Mario Tennis is all that interests me. I had Super Tennis on the SNES and loved that and haven’t played any tennis games since then so I’m hoping this will be as good.
