@wasilewski @RetroGamerAndrew @Lroy Aces looks VERY playable so that's a definite! I really want Dark Souls, Okami and South Park and Captain Toad is just a genius game. Gah, I want so many games. Great Direct.

@Lroy Even though a good amount of the Direct confirms more rumors, and 'ports, ports, ports' being thrown around the usual comment gallery, I ended up feeling pretty hyped afterwards. I can't wait for the Splatoon Expansion and more gear/stages the most, though. That and Octopath Traveler continues to impress me with new character types doing unique things. I think I'll give the demo a go later.

As a gamer I thought the Direct was good. I already own many of the ports elsewhere, but I am excited about Captain Toad on 3DS ( I love 3D) and a few others.

As an investor, the announcement of Smash is immense and puts one of Nintendo’s strongest franchise on the Switch. This will definitely help sell more units and in turn, attract even more games to the system.

my scores are so high that i dont think there would be enough spaces to put all the numbers to show proof.

@GrailUK Well played pal, amazing score and what a pick for the week ahead. I think it's safe to say we're all going to have fun with this beauty.

If anyone has any ideas on how things could be improved, other than my recent punctuality then let's discuss and see what everyone thinks. I've got a thousand things going on in my mind at the moment and have a big month ahead of me so I doubt I can contribute any ideas myself but we've got such a great little community here, would hate to see interest in what we've got going dwindle. We can try any proposed ideas the community agree on and of they don't work out then so be it. At least we tried.

Just like everyone else here I'm a huge fan of arcade titles and chasing high scores but if the best I can achieve is a last played finish week after week then so be it, no shame in that and it certainly wouldn't diminish my interest in taking part. I don't want to finish last, no one does but I can only do my best. Having the opportunity to discuss the kind of games we all share a passion for and learning from top players will make our best attempts even better than they would have been and see us climb the Hamster leaderboards. I'd love to see this community grow and continue for a long time to come. Having a top 20 leaderboard each week is something I'd love to see.

@OorWullie We all would have pumped more than 6 quid in to the coin-op for these scores. So this thread really adds value.

Steredenn: Binary Stars, what a game! Superb modern retro shooting. Just get it! Nuff said.

@OorWullie I double-dipped on that a couple of days ago: killer! Gets very hard quickly tho! Did about ten runs, never got after the third boss

@RetroGamerAndrew I just had my best run by far there,I made it to the 4th boss using the Tempest with a Flamebot and Stasisbot as my weapons which allowed me to mostly focus on evading . I had a shield as armour as my power ups. It does get very tough quick but I think once you can use the better ships things will get a little easier. just like with Enter the

Also I CAN'T WAIT for Danmaku Unlimited 3, in 3 days, it was ace on iPhone but this version on Switch is gonna be glorious and the price makes it an incredible deal

@DashKappei Yes, believe the challenge for this week is BLAZING STAR. I had a little run on it last night and got all nostalgic for the amazing PULSTAR as it lets you play as the ship from that game as one of the options. Man, I really love PULSTAR. BLAZING STAR was deliberately made to play very differently but you can still see this was made by the same team. Great game too but I'm not very good at it, lol!

What with these two recent shooters with confusing names (DANMAKU 3 UNLIMITED and STEREDENN: BINARY STARS) plus AERO FIGHTERS 3 coming and STAR FORCE from a while back. I just can't keep up with the financial outlay. Amazing to have such an abundance of the genre on Switch already.
