Hey

Is there a way to download netflixs, amazon video, Disney + onto the switch lite without having to install Android OS?

Is there a way to watch films on a SD card on the switch is something like VLC supported?

Thanks

@rsbhj
I think the only ways to watch movies are Hulu, YouTube, and whatever the anime streaming app is.

@rsbhj On top of what blindsquarel mentioned above, Hulu, Youtube, there's also cruchyroll. That might be it.

I think Nintendo is conscious of how much screen time kids & family get, and I think they've purposely kept streaming apps very limited on purpose. Since launch, there has been no talk from Nintendo regarding adding Disney+, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, etc. I think they are sticking to that position.

To add to my comment, I am pretty sure you can purchase movies on YouTube, as well as tv shows.

Like use laptop your wasting precious Lite and standard Switch battery. Even your smartphone is a better alternative.

@blindsquarel To add to this, not sure if the UK has anything similar, in the US, we have Movies Anywhere. If a YouTube account is linked to it, you can also play digital movies bought online or with digital codes included with Blu-Ray/DVDs with YouTube linked. Done this a few times I wanted to watch a movie.

Hey there! I know it's been a while since this post, but in case anyone is still wondering, you can now download the Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney+ apps on the Switch Lite without having to install Android OS. As for watching films on an SD card, unfortunately, the Switch doesn't support VLC. However, there are some third-party media players available on the eShop that might be worth checking out. Btw, if anyone is looking for a good scanning app, I recommend Smart Engines ( https://smartengines.com/ ) . It's helped me out a ton in the past!

I figured that the lack of main streaming apps was because... well, why bother? You can watch Netflix or Disney+ (my paid subscriptions at the moment) practically anywhere now.

Of course, I don't work at Nintendo, so... I can't give a real answer there, sorry.
