A local game store may buyback old consoles. You could call one and ask if they take in broken ones.

Currently playing: Pokemon Soul Silver, Mario RPG
Enos 1:15

@D20Nat20 Yeah, take your Lite to a game store that buys/sells used consoles, see how much you can get for it. That's what I'd do here in the US. They'll want to see your console for an estimate.

In the uk they won't take it unless its an easy repair so a switch with no joycons or that only works undocked yep but a broken screen or no sound is a no go ... Thats in pawn brokers and big chains small local stores are no more near me ... Last one close a year and a half ago

@D20Nat20 Understood.

Does anyone else here have a recommendation for the OP other than selling on Ebay (UK)? @D20Nat20 wants to sell their Switch Lite w/ cracked screen.

@D20Nat20 You could try Gumtree or Facebook Marketplace.

I've had a bit of success selling Lego on Gumtree rather than eBay, but never sold old console/handhelds. Don't recall many faulty ones coming up for sale either to be honest, but there are usually loads of working consoles listed - at least local to me. Can't comment on how good/bad Facebook marketplace is as I haven't used it for selling, but my wife does buy a fair bit and hasn't had any issues.

There are a few faulty Lites listed on eBay at the moment, but only one I could see that had a cracked screen - currently at around £40 with a dozen or so bidders. Looks like they are mostly going for between £35 -£50.

How much were you looking to sell for?

I'm hoping around £30-£50(after any fees or postal costs)

You could always stick it on Gumtree for £40 or near offers and see if anyone bites before settling for £25 - especially if you are not that desperate to get rid of it. I'd be pretty tempted at £40, but not really looking for a 'fixer' at the moment - I think my wife would freak out if another console turned up too 😂

Personally I'd wait for a 'low fees' weekend on eBay (seems to be every other week at the moment) and take my chances. You'd likely get a bit more than £25 based on previously sold items, but there's always that risk that buyers are just not interested and you end up giving it away for next to nothing so I guess the guarantee of £25 without messing with fees and postage etc. is fine if you don't want that hassle.

@dmcc0 see this is the thing ebay its like its no gaurentee but like you say no rush right?

Tbh if i had a waayyy better job i'd give it away for postage costs but you know us retail lackies gotta earn that pretty green

@D20Nat20 Yeah, I got hit with that last weekend when I got £35 for a Lego set that I was expecting roughly £60-£70 for based on recent sales.
