You don't know how many times I wished for a 'I'm going on vacation" feature in New Leaf so I could take a break and not worry about weeds springing up everywhere and villagers suddenly leaving.

I wish my villagers would stop nagging me about my other three villagers (who have never spoken to them).

I have three extra profiles for money/art farming (I previously had an extra seven but scaled back after cracking 10,000,000 bells), and none of them have spoken to any of the villagers.

In fact, villagers won't acknowledge your player at all unless you have spoken to them at least once, so, they won't rush to you with requests or anything of the sort. In fact, you can even push into them and they won't raise objection (though I'm not sure if I have tried hitting them with a net prior to ever speaking to them, which could potentially count as an interaction).

That’s awesome that Dora is now with you. She’s my most beloved villager. She and Stitches. I had to let her go because she doesn’t fit with my new jungle theme but I have her amiibo card. Take good care of her.
And I will totally check out your dream address. Hope to update mine too very soon since my jungle is coming together very well. Right now my dream only shows my almost empty island. Still missing 2 or 3 villagers I want so some time will pass. Also playing at a slower pace and in between other games.

New Leaf had the Beautiful Town Ordinance which got rid of most weed growth and your flowers wouldn't wilt. After just starting up New Leaf after likely more than a year there were barely any weeds. There is still the chance that a villager moved out I guess, but that probably does not happen that fast if you build a good enough bond with them (like unlocking their picture). For New Horizons I can't be sure about how many weeds grow after a long break, but that can maybe be even worse than New Leaf.

@Cosmofantasmo Of course I'll take good care of her! I'm a nice guy. Glad to see that your jungle theme is going nicely. I'm quite proud of how my house turned out, though I do need to sort out this flower problem I have lol.

The "Beautiful Town" ordinance would decrease the number of weeds, but it wouldn't eliminate them, and if you didn't actively maintain your town then weeds would definitely spring up. Perhaps not as many as without the ordinance, but if you came back to the game after a week, you would have some weeding to do.

@Mountain_Man And if you let the weeds overgrow too long, you get a minigame where you earn furniture and such for weeding.

Don't forget to head on over to the May Day maze if you haven't already. It's gonna end on April 7th, so a couple days from now. Just a friendly reminder to you all.

I tried extensive time traveling for the first time ever this week just to say I have made the experience and my conclusion is that I will return to „normal“. Of course I had some benefits from this because Redd was here on Monday and returning to that day changed his set of art every time, but the RNG is so bad with him that I still didn’t get all the art in about 40 tries. I collected about ten insect models from Flick and the golden shovel from Gulliver after helping him three more times, but these little victories came at the expense of spending too much time in the main menu changing the date. A positive side-effect and the most exciting thing for me was that everything I planted grew faster and villagers moved and bridges were built faster so I could see the results of my ideas in a few minutes and not after days.

I estimated once that time traveling takes around three minutes per trip, forward and back. It just doesn't seem worth the effort to me. I'd rather actually play the game than spend so much time staring at system menus and loading screens.

It’s more about two minutes in one direction. From saving and quitting the game to changing the date, returning to the game, loading screens and of course Isabelles announcements and again leaving your house to play on a different day. Returning to the first day will again take two minutes. I will rather actually play, too.
And here comes my only BUT. But when I look especially at Redd and count the times I returned to him, time traveling is something to consider. I was collecting art since it came with the update and with the help of some friends I was only missing 5 or 6 pieces. After 50 travels to Redd I’m still missing two. This would have taken two years in regular play when Redd only comes every two weeks and the museum would still be unfinished. I’m not promoting time traveling I’m only stating that Redd is unfair.

Major problem here. Decided to complete the turnip trading stamps this week and was pretty sure to get a price development with a high peak. Invested big in turnips on sunday. But today I got the confirmation I'm only in random up and down week. I'm now interested in good prices. Anything above 150 bells will be good enough. Happy to share some of the earnings.
