Let's say 1 March you found Redd in your island, so after you finished shopping from him, Save then quit from the game, change the date to next day 2 March. Enter your game, get the art stuff delivered, finished the day, Save then quit. Go back to previous day 1 March and you will find Redd again with different items to sell (arts and other colored furnitures). Repeat the process until you get satisfied.

@Anti-Matter Ive done that! It changes, but to the same things I've had before. My luck apparently just sucks when it comes to the rotation of artwork that pops up.

Had no idea time travel was still in fashion @Anti-Matter! Didn't Nintendo make new rules to punish people who did that? I don't care if it takes me two years, I'll legally raise a desert island civilisation from the ground!

I only started in December, and I'm pretty sure I'm making really slow progress. I'm at Project K.K. and am at two stars. Ah well, it'll come to me eventually.

I did Time Travel hundred times and i didn't even see any punishment from Nintendo. Only actual day locked event that i must play with actual date but after that, i can exploit the items by return on previous day.
I am a rebel in Animal Crossing.
I don't play slow.
I play smart and take control the time.

I never really liked the time traveling exploit, but I guess it's fine as long as people don't spoil other's fun with it. I hate it whenever I'm waiting for an event, and then someone already completed said event and spoiled everything you get from it, just because they time traveled the day it unlocked to get all the furniture.

I hit my 300-days today. According to the Switch stats, I've wasted 420-hours in this game. It took me nearly 5-years to log that much play time in New Leaf

@DarthNocturnal That is my point exactly! Animal Crossing's charm is that it is a game you cant beat and is a nice chill experience. But there definitely SHOULD be more balance when it comes to the artwork that appears at Redds among a few other tweaks.

@BrittGOAL14 Yeah totally. Hopefully we'll see an update from Nintendo sometime soon! I do know they made a picture for Super Mario Odyssey's 1st anniversary. Would be great to see Brewster's Cafe come back...I'm just itching for more things to do in New Horizons.

To both Foxy and Brittany: Yeah I'm not getting any new artworks right now, for me and others. Yesterday I bought another famous painting, only because it was the only real one in stock. Would love to help you guys out with any artworks you need, provided they're around in my island of course!

@BrittGOAL14 I would too...those three rooms in the first floor are too small for my liking.

It's amazing how New Horizons even cut house upgrades. It really feels like they took 2 steps forwards and a lot of steps behind when it came to this game. It has outdoor customization and a cool terrain feature, but if you aren't someone who cares about the creative stuff in animal crossing, and likes the simulation aspect more.. the game sort of leaves you in the dark, waiting for updates.

Out of curiosity, I looked up my New Leaf play stats (I wish the Switch kept this kind of detail!):

Play Time: 548:30
Times Played: 557
Average Play Time: 0:59
First Played: 6/9/2013
Last Played: 2/25/2018

So, yeah, my play time in New Horizons is probably going to eclipse that sometime in the next year.

Yes, more house upgrades would be nice, but with the ability to freely sculpt and decorate your island to your heart's content, I don't find myself spending as much time decorating my house as I did in New Leaf. So while you say it's two steps forward and several steps back, I would describe as it as one giant leap forward, and maybe a couple of steps back.

As for the "simulation aspect", I can't imagine what you think is missing since the interactions with your town citizens in New Horizons seem to be about on par with New Leaf. They could certainly have been kicked up a notch with more elaborate conversations and tasks, so it's not a step forward, but I don't see how there has been a step back from previous games.
