MARIO TENNIS ACES Demo is now live and fully operational in U.K. Based off my intial impressions, this game is going to be awesome for Game Nights. Endless rallies 😂

@Fafounet@Lroy Thought I'd build a bit of suspense by posting them a little later... Haha!
I've also trawled back through the thread to document the History of the NL Cup!🏆 over on our Guilded page ..thought it'd be nice to keep a track of these things (before they got buried too deep!)
Look forward to playing again in a couple of weeks time!
I've played about 60 matches of Mario Tennis demo and I already pre-ordered and downloaded it (300 bonus gold points!) If any game has a chance to dethrone Splatoon 2 and Salmon Run as my go-to game for multiplayer it could be this one. Hopefully we'll be able to get some decent ping times while playing on different continents during game nights. I even won a couple tournaments too, but I really need to learn the timing for trick shots as the higher level players are able to get to almost any ball at will. Here's my 2nd tourney win. What a save! Did I use that phrase in the correct context?
Just giving advance warning that I have to pull out of the Games Night on Monday. It was due to be STREET FIGHTER 30TH ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION with me hosting. Hopefully, @fafounet or @mauhlin12 can step in and host?
Gutted I can't make it, second Monday in a row, been really looking forward to playing STREET FIGHTER with mates.
Alas, we've had a bit of a torrid time at home this past week or so. Both my little kids been on/off poorly and the latest twist saw us admitted to hospital with my son yesterday evening.
He developed acute pain in the stomach and was kept in overnight for observation. Tests not shown anything serious and touch wood it is just some kind of unexplained passing virus or more likely a UTI. We've being allowed to return home today, but are on 48hr stand-by to return if the pain returns.
Needless to say, we've all had very little sleep, a lot of worry and are plain exhausted.
So apologies again. Really hope you can still get a Games Night going, even if you have to revert to MARIO KART maybe?

@Lroy Don't worry about it at all and take care of your family. Really sorry to hear about your medical troubles, nothing worse when the small one are affected.
Happy to host Street Fighter Collection tomorrow at 7.30pm if no one else wants to do it. (@mauhlin12?)
@mauhlin12
I have also tried Mario Tennis, only few matches, but I am sold too. This looks just like perfect multiplayer game for me - easy to learn, laid back, but with some great mechanics that makes it more complex and makes skill really important during play.
VOTE: Choose the venue for the next edition of the NL Cup🏆 [Rocket League] over on our Guilded page! (..likely to be hosted on 14th June at 8:30pm BST)
Options:
Salty Shores ..the new beach arena!
Beckwith Park (Stormy) ..standard stage with atmospheric lightning!
Neo Tokyo ..standard stage in futuristic Japan!
ARCtagon ..octagonal stage!
(p.s. Really sorry to hear about your weekend @Lroy - hope they both feel better soon!)
@Lroy Oh no so sorry about the recent run the little ones have been on. Hopefully the doctors figure out what's going on or like you said, just a passing virus. @Fafounet I could host, my only concern is ping times as host given that I'm on the west coast of USA so I'm an ocean and a continent away from most players here. I can post on here when I'm setting up a lobby around 8:15 GMT and we can see how it works and if lag is worse than usual maybe you can try hosting? So long story short, anyone here who isn't already on my friends list and wants to play Street Fighter tomorrow add me, to all the regulars I'm looking forward to trying out a new game with you all and I'm sure you ken beat me!
@mauhlin12 That's great! We can always fall back on me hosting/creating a lobby if the lag is too much of an issue.
BTW, I noticed that you were playing Xenoblades Chronicles 2 and was wondering what your thoughts were on the game. I have not taken the plonge yet. Absolutely adore RPG and JRPG, but a bit reluctant to pull the trigger based on some negative reviews I read about technical issues in handheld mode (which I play the most) and the story which takes long to kick in and not to everyone's taste. What do you think so far and how does the game rate for you? Thanks, would appreciate your opinion (amd anyone else's) on that one.
Finally I get my fair share of gaming.
Praise the Switch!

@Fafounet I love Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I was actually beating the final boss for the 2nd time, since when I beat it for the first time several months ago the game crashed post-credits before I could save and do the post-game content. No such problem this time though. It's my first plunge into the series. Story is great, some parts are serious but a lot of anime-ish goofiness. The graphics are noticeably worse in handheld mode. The graphics are still really good for a handheld game, but it's disappointing that there is such a huge difference in quality between docked and handheld. So in other words, don't expect Breath of the Wild type handheld graphics, but certainly way better than anything you'd see on say, 3DS. One complaint I have is that it's not always clear where to go next- as in I can see where I need to go, but trying to get there can be a chore. Had to look up a walkthrough/YouTube video a couple times because I was getting impatient. Combat is complex, but I think the game does a good job of drip-feeding you more and more layers as the game goes on. Music is amazing, some of the voice acting is good, some not so good. I'm sure you've heard the battle cry memes by now. It's a great game if you take your time with it. I can't imagine being a reviewer that has to play through all 100+ hours of it in a week or two in order to get their review out. The combat, story, and music make it a high recommendation by me. Just be prepared to be frustrated at times by clunky puzzles and sometimes overpowered enemies that will require grinding. And don't be afraid to check the internet for help if you get stuck, because the payoff is worth it. I also bought the expansion pass and I'm anxiously awaiting the story DLC.

@mauhlin12 Great review, I will then get the game at a later stage once I am done with Skyrim (will I ever be though?). Can deal with poorer handheld graphics as long as story and gameplay mechanics are solid. Beautiful music certainly does not harm either! Thanks a million for your thoughts and see you later online.

@Fafounet No problem! I love me a good RPG too. Probably my favorite genre. BTW I picked up a LAN adapter so hopefully having a wired connection for me will help with stability online. When I ran a connection test in the Switch's system menu there wasn't a huge difference in download and upload speeds compared to my wi-fi, but having my internet wired into the dock should hopefully make for more consistent matches. Fingers crossed.
@wasilewski My preferred games are 3rd Strike since it's brand new to me and might be the best version of SF and Hyper Fighting- the one that's closest to Street Fighter 2 Turbo on SNES. Although we can play all 4 online games in one lobby or if you have a favorite let me know and we'll definitely get some matches in for that.
@mauhlin12 I don't mind really. The originals are my favourites as those are the ones I'm most used to. I will play some 3rd Strike to practice and learn the moves.
