I'm hoping I finally found some place that I could find some other adult Splatoon gamers. I've tried Discord but everything has young kids or teens. I cant even watch live streams woth them all the excited yelling and screaming. I mean that happens woth adults but we're not nearly as dramatic as often. 36/F trying to find others to game/vc. @TskTori Welcome! I play quite a bit of Splatoon 2 myself. My skills are still pretty mediocre and don't have any means to voice chat, but I'm an A in ranked modes (except Clam Blitz) and hover around Profresh 200-400 in Salmon Run. This group also has Mario Kart Mondays at 8pm GMT if you're into that.
@TskTori I, too, am a Splatoon 2 player - feel free to add me as well It's my most played Switch game (by some distance) but I haven't played it in a while - would be great to have an excuse to dip back in to it if we can get something arranged!
(..looking forward to Mario Kart tomorrow as well!)
@NaviAndMii How's your experience been with the Snes Mini? Do you find the cables for the controllers too short? Have you added any other games? If yes, do they work via the same menu and user interface e.g. you can use the same screen filters/boarders/save states?
Been considering getting one for ages but the idea of being tied to the machine via a cabled controller and the fact I already play Snes games via emulation reasonably well kind of leads me to hold off.

@Lroy I've really enjoyed what I've played of it so far - my brother's SNES was the first console I ever played, so it's certainly hitting all of the right nostalgia notes!
The emulation is good quality - particularly in 'Pixel Perfect' mode (which squares off the pixels in games, making them look a bit better proportioned on modern TV's) - and having 'save states' is a real blessing too!
I was a little concerned about the length of the controller cords when I ordered the console - but, fortunately, because our living room is unusually shaped (long and narrow) they just about stretch as far as our couch (albeit quite taut, causing people to have to hurdle the wire if they're walking past!) ..it's comfortable enough - but, if there's an extension cable or something, I might consider buying one for each controller just to make it less of a trip hazard! ..they feel great though - instantly familiar - and to have two controllers right out of the box is really nice
I haven't added any games to mine yet - I have no idea how it works (ie. whether they'd appear on the main title menu like the others) but I've heard it's simple enough, so I'd be open to expanding the collection in the future - I'll have to do a bit of digging at some point! ..for now though, just chipping away at the included games (particularly the RPG's) is keeping me nicely satisfied - never short of choice, that's for sure!
Overall, I'm pretty delighted with it - and playing these classic games on a unit that resembles the original console does seem to add something a little extra to the experience (enough to have me grinning from ear-to-ear throughout!) ..I'm less sure about the NES Classic (which I missed out on the first time around) - the controller cables being half the length could be a real issue - but I'm a big fan of the SNES version; 21 games and 2 controllers bundled in a little box of nostalgia is a real treat
@NaviAndMii Thanks for the detailed response mate. I think I'm gonna just keep both NES Mini and SNES Mini on my wishlists indefinitely and one day perhaps I'll receive one under the Xmas tree 🌲
If Nintendo do ever make an N64 Mini or a GameCube Mini - I'll buy that Day 1. N64 was one of my favourite consoles but alas the games have proven very hit and miss when emulated in my limited experience. I never owned a GameCube and would therefore jump at the chance in Mini form. Ditto the latter for any sort of GameBoy Advance classic Mini as that system had some incredible games for it.
@Lroy I've still got my original N64 and GameCube, so perhaps wouldn't be in the market for them myself (would still be great though!) ..but I would love, love, love it if the GBA got the 'Classic Mini' treatment!
I never had a GBA back-in-the-day, but I always wanted one - so, in some ways, it'd help to fill that GBA-sized hole in my gaming life! ..and there's a lot of games I'd love to play in 'Classic' form - so it'd be a 'must buy' for me, too!
@Lroy@NaviAndMii I have also considered the Nes and super Nes mini for a while as the former was the first system I ever owned and the latter my favourite system. But considering what is perhaps bound to happen with the Nintendo online service, we may yet have the opportunity to play our favourite Nes and SuperNes retro games on our current fave console! So fingers crossed.. 🤞
Finally I get my fair share of gaming.
Praise the Switch!
