Topic: Acnh moving to new switch

Hi! So I’ve looked everywhere on how to move myself off of my sons island on Acnh. He’s the main person so I’m just a resident. I just got a new switch for myself and am confused a bit on an answer I’m looking for. I know you can transfer an island or a resident to the new switch. But does transferring the whole island delete it from his switch as well? I was hoping I could transfer the island and everything with myself onto the new switch. Everywhere I’ve looked just says how to transfer but not if it means i can have the same island on both our switches. Wanted to get that detail before doing it so I don’t ruin it. Thank you!

@Beccabee It's all or nothing. You cannot copy the island. So basically you transfer everything to your Switch or keep everything on your sons.
