I made a Japanese eShop account mainly to ascertain which Japanese/Asian physical releases would include English support (in the absence of local physical releases of any such games).
Most games will support the same languages internationally, but there are some exceptions, so I wouldn't encourage anybody to recklessly pursue anything without doing at least a bit of research beforehand.
Fortunately, sites like Play-Asia will generally specify the supported language on the product page, but they may not necessarily be 100% accurate.
Unfortunately, some languages, such as Turkish, Arabic etc., even if supported, are not listed on the eShop page, probably because they function as an in-software language only, rather than on a console UI level (as the game's logo on the home menu may change to adapt to whatever your console's language is set to, and at present, there is no Turkish option in order for this to be possible, for example).
Thai and Polish have been added to Switch 2, but strangely they say they’ll only be supported on games that support it while the UI is still in English. Maybe they’ll update it in the future so they actually display the UI in Thai and Polish?
I thought we would have to wait until a hypothetical/eventual game set in a region based on Brazil, especially since they made a big deal out of LatAm Spanish being included starting with Legends Z-A.
I'm still going to play in English, but this still makes me very happy.
Seems like the Brazilian Portuguese and Latin American Spanish versions of Super Mario Bros. Wonder - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park use translated names much like Portugal and Spain, first time they do it even though they usually keep the English names in Brazil and Latin America
