The people shouting "doom" for Switch or Pokemon are idiots. For lack of a better word. But to be fair the direct was pretty average. Especially for people who have moved on from Wii U & 3DS. If this had been on Switch in any way? I would have been pretty hyped about it. As it is.... it's nice to see Pokken on Switch, I might pick it up this time.

Currently, not a ton of people considering how a lackluster port of Mario Maker on 3DS has sold as well as Switch's total userbase.
3DS, which has sold like 60+ million, and will have a bigger audience than Switch will (no matter what happens) for at least 2 years. Doubly so since you can't say they just unplugged it since it is...a handheld.
I'm glad Pokken is getting a 2nd chance, since I've heard people say it's seriously underappreciated as a fighting game.

The thing about the 3DS install base is that a lot of people didn't just buy one SKU. A lot of people got the original and then upgraded to a later SKU. So when you say 60mill it's not really 60mill users and its definitely not 60mill active users. To put it another way, if the Switch sells 15mill units by years end here's how you'd rank the various SKUs of Nintendo's recent hardware releases:
#1. Original 3DS (~28mill)
#2. 3DS XL (~20mill)
#3. Switch (~15mill)
#4. Wii U (~13mill)
#5. New 3DS XL (~8mill)
#6. 2DS (~6mill)
#7. NES Classic Mini (~2mill)
#8. New 3DS (~2mill)
I'm not sure that there are many owners of the original 3DS who never got a later SKU, will not get the Switch and are still actively buying games. Same deal to a lesser degree with the 3DS XL. And less again with the 2DS. I don't think we're as far away from the active user base on the Switch overtaking the 3DS as people think.
Hi! I am wanting to by a Switch because of what they have done with Zelda. What I was waiting for was a Main Pokémon game open world like Zelda. I understand it takes time to develop.
@Haru17 Pokémon has a great chance to be open world, it has endless possibilities and such great opportunity for the best game to ever exist if built In the right hands. Don't ever underestimate the power of Pokémon.
P.S.Japanese are Ninjas, they already read this.
