Nintendo's Japanese website announced that there will be a Pokemon-focused Nintendo Direct tomorrow at 7 am Pacific and 3 pm UK time only 8 minutes in duration. Here's the NintendoLife article.
For speculation, a next gen Pokemon 'Stars' Version has been rumored for a while now, dating back to when we were still calling it 'NX' if I remember correctly. What is this Direct about if not Pokemon Stars? Would such a game feature new pocket monsters? How big would the graphical jump be? Would it include a remastered Kanto as has been alluded to? And perhaps most importantly of all, will Pokemon, Monster Hunter, and Splatoon 2 in addition to the Mario & Zelda year that we've known about since January carry the Switch hype to a fever pitch?
Given they could spend less development time on story, mecahnics and characters and the world and put more time into learning HD Development, by remaking Diamond and Pearl, especially given the inclusion of Pilup and Lucario in the new movie, the two poster boys of Diamond of Pearl.
But hey, that's just me.
Now Playing: Mario & Luigi Brothership, Sonic x Shadow Generations
Now Streaming: The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
@BLP_Software I would be down for a Diamond and Pearl remake, that is one of my favorite regions and set of Pokemon designs. Revisiting the underground would be fun, but I'd want them to expand the environments out from even Sun and Moon. The mountain climb should feel like an actual mountain, and the forests forests. Imagine how creepy the Old Chateau and Distortion World could be.
@Tsurii I'd be fine with it too, if I had a 3DS, lol. I've never played a Pokemon game, so I'm hoping one comes to the Switch so I can see what all the hype is about. I kinda doubt that'll happen, but we'll see.
If the Switch is indeed getting a Pokemon game, I'd want it to be going all-out. The power of the Switch should allow battles to run smooth as butter, as well as giving the overworld a lot more pop and detail.
At eight minutes, this should be brief, allowing more detail at E3. A talk of the title, a little showing around the features, and that's about it. If a second game is included, I'd expect just name drops.
Of course, what we'll probably get is a run-down of all the generations with a "future is here" tag before a name drop and a bit of teasing.
Agreed. If they do a switch game I don't want it to just be sun/moon with better resolution. This is a console, and it should have a game that looks like it runs on a console. As such I'm just hoping for a pokken port or sequel.
Not sure if I'm willing to go to work early to get to the office in time to see the direct.

I'm gonna wait 'til tommorrow before I commit to buying a ticket for this particular Poké-Hype Train ..got my fingers crossed for something special though! **cough** STARS! **cough** **cough**
Before playing X/Y, I hadn't played a pokèmon game since Ruby/Sapphire.
I really had a blast with X/Y, thanks to the improved graphics, new mechanics, new pokèmon, I really felt like a child again for the first 10 to 20 hours of those games.
I they announced Pokèmon stars for the Switch I'd play the hell out of those games. I'm not one for "hype trains" but I sure would be stoked to play a Pokèmon game on Switch. Hoping to see one real soon!
If they really do a Pokemon for Switch i hope it is Stars or a remake of the first generation. This can be the real & right chance for me to get closer to the brand again from when i was a little child! If they do it i might even pick up Pokemon Go again!
I would only be okay with a remake of Kanto if it was the second part of the Sun and Moon story and included a true remaster of those games. Nostalgia is cancer, that is all.
Its probably just Marshadow getting a release date here in the west.
Never take anything I say seriously. S'all you buddy. ;)
Mainly play on my Switch but I have 3DS, Wii U and PS4 as well.
Fave game series include: Pokemon, Smash Bros, Splatoon, Disgaea, Bayonetta, Dragons Dogma, Phantasy Star & Arena of Valor.
By the way, if we have to talk about predictions, i think it will just be Pokemon Go (around 2 minutes) and the next main Pokemon (around 5 minutes, assuming 1 minute will be talks and presentations), whether it's on 3DS, Switch or both
