@NEStalgia Thanks! You mentioned that to me earlier...I must have forgotten to reply. I'll think about it, but I wear glasses as well (everything is breaking on me) so I'm not sure if I want to take em off and strap a VR headset to my face. It is something to think about however.

@Ryu_Niiyama NP. Officially you're actually supposed to wear your glasses if you wear glasses. I, however, do not and it's fine, and more convenient for me. But if it's more convenient to leave them on, that's what you're supposed to be doing anyway.
Not that there's a humongous amount of content out there for it, but it's a cool gamer geek experience all the same
@Octane That's assuming Nintendo actually plans to have GB/C games on the Switch at all. My other comment was sarcastic, but Nintendo truly believes the system should be sold as a home console, and they have distinct ideologies when designing products for different formats.
And then again this is GameFreak, they only really started selling their mainline pokemon games long after everyone else stopped supporting the VC service.
@1UP_MARIO
I don't hate both ps1 & ps2.
Actually both SF Zero Generations & SF III 3rd Strike were planned for my shopping list for PS2 Japan games.
But, after i heard about SF 30th Anniversary for Switch , with Alpha 3 & 3rd Strike inside, suddenly i changed my purchase plan.
So, both those games will be not played on my PS2 Slim, but will be on Nintendo Switch. I called it a Big Opportunity by suddenly. I have never expected before.
@Meowpheel They did put handheld vc on the wiiu so I think Nintendo has walked away from the "handheld only experiences vs console only experiences" mindset. Granted, anything can happen at this point.

I still play games on my 3DS from time to time. Its a little hard to go from the Switch to it, but I still like the system and it has its place. The look and feel of the 3DS still appeals to me and honestly the battery life you get out of it is really hard to beat. The amount of available games on it is awesome. So I still welcome new games to come out on it.
@Ryu_Niiyama I honestly believe that had more to do with "we need something interesting and exclusive to sell the system". Like Earthbound.
There was a while, during the period of time the 3ds was doing well and the WiiU started falling, where they shifted all their attention to the WiiU in a desperate attempt to save it. During that time they just kind of left the 3ds float on its own.
All depends on one's priorities. For me, portability is queen, so I'm going to pass on 90% of games that don't release on some sort of portable system. Of course, I'll still play a game if I'm really looking forward to it: I played 116 or so hours of Persona 5, and I plan on getting Ni no Kuni 2 and SotC remake. But, otherwise, I just don't see the sense in paying for games I'm not going to enjoy as much or have as many opportunities to play anymore. The Switch has changed what I expect from the industry. Same reason PS4 will likely be my last pure home console.
I imagine that, for people who are more into playing games on a TV, or who just dislike the 3DS hardware, that a similar sort of logic operates.
Realistically, the 3DS games that came out this year were already in development so of course the 3DS was gonna still be getting more games. Did people really expect A) for all 3DS games to be moved to Switch? and in turn B) Nintendo and 3rd parties like Atlus to drop the 3DS support that sudden? I like Nintendo's strategy of slowly putting the handheld to rest. It looks like we're still getting some 3DS games 2018 and beyond but not very much.
I definitely prefer playing on Switch now, but I don't have an issue playing on 3DS. For one, I can't wait to play the SMT Strange Journey remake next year.
I do get your point too, of course. But would you rush out and buy a DS or Gameboy Advance game today when you have a 3DS? Would you be less inclinded to watch a film in standard definition if you'd just got a new 4K TV? I think if you try you can get into the alternative mindset.
For me, it depends on the game and not the console. There are DS and GBA games that I haven't played that I plan to buy once I clear my backlog a bit, such as Metroid: Zero Mission. In terms of films, for me it is much more important how good the film is rather than how it looks. If I had the choice, I would choose to play an HD remake of Metroid: Zero Mission or watch the film in 4K. If I don't, I'm not going to purposely miss out on something I am interested in just because it could be improved.
I do understand the people who don't have a 3DS. But I absolutely do not understand the people who state they have a 3DS, but won't buy xx game because they have no reason to turn on their 3DS. Ummm, the game in question is the reason to turn it on....
Makes no sense.
That is exactly what I mean.
Maybe it is just the fact that the Switch is new, and people are excited about it. In a while when the Switch is out for a while maybe people will think 'Oh, I haven't played Metroid: Samus Returns' and they will return to their 3DS to play it. When I got my Wii U I was excited and bought games such as Tekken Tag Tournament 2 that I wouldn't have been interested in if they had been released on any other console, so this is the other way round.
When I disagree with something, I always try to understand the other side of view. I think in this case I will have to accept that I can't understand, unless getting my Switch changes my mind. My opinion is that the game is much more important than the hardware. If for some reason Nintendo released a new Mario platformer on the Gamecube next year, I would still buy it because despite it being for an older and inferior console, it is still a game that I would enjoy.

@KryptoKrunch Yeah, Strange Journey Redux is going to be great. 3DS has turned into such a fantastic system for SMT games (and Atlus games in general).
I don't play games on PC or mobile even though I can and if there is a PC game or a mobile game that I am interested in, I hope for a console release. I guess it might be similar to that. I downloaded some games such as Crazy Taxi and Rayman Adventures onto my Android tablet and played them with a controller, and I had no interest in actually playing them for more than a couple of minutes, even though they were games that I would have enjoyed. I just wanted to play on a console instead. Similarly, I have a small interest in PUBG and Undertale now that they are on consoles, but I didn't care about them when they were PC exclusives. I don't understand why though. Maybe I associate my laptop and tablet with work and want to keep my gaming separate.
So, despite not understanding, I understand now I think. I refuse to play on my PC or tablet, just like others refuse to play on their 3DS.
