I mean, if someone is concerned about spoilers for a game, they really oughtn't go to that game's specific forum on a website;
If I was trying to avoid a football (soccer) result, I wouldn't click on that match on the website :/
@rallydefault I am amazed some reviewers have said it is only a 10-12 hour game. I guess if you do the bare minimal to open up the end level warp and go straight to the next it would, but it really isn't the point of the game.
I have done 10 hours approx and still only the 2nd chapter. I am taking my sweet time and doing 90-100 percent of each level before moving on. Also, some challenges really do take time to suss or sort!
@Mana_Knight One review said 6 hours to beat it, 40 hours to 100% it. It will be awhile until enough people finish to provide averages for howlongtobeat.com.
For comparison, Yoshi's Crafted World lists 8.5 hours to beat, 35.5 hours to 100%... Yoshi games are kinda always mostly optional extra goals.
I've only finished one chapter so far, but man, do I love this game. As others have said, it's so much better when expecting it as a puzzle game vs as a platformer. I adore the art direction so, so much.

I caved in and bought it. Super charming. I've only played 2 sections and I have no idea if I got all the discoveries but I normally play Yoshi games by getting most of the stuff as I go through but not worrying about 100% until afterwards.
@FishyS You get a red star stamp on the creature page when you have everything. You will know. If you don't get one and there no more hints you can buy, it probably means you will need to revist that level later for some special event that happens. The other reason it is not yet 100 percent is you will find that creature on another level and make a discovery about it there.
What are people's favourite levels so far? Everytime I enter a new one it often becomes the new fav! As I said before, this has Mario Wonder genius to it.
@FishyS admittedly, i think about halfway through, i feel that this game has a far better idea of 100%ing than crafted world. that felt signifcantly more repetitive and slow than this game does.
remember; your chicken parm is not safe around me!
When I finish a level, my brain still wants/expects the
'buh-buh-bun........YOSHI!' you got in Yoshi Story. As it the Yoshi game I have the most love and time on, it is so ingrained to me. It feels empty without.😆 https://youtu.be/VPfUQE4OFsw?si=oO67MHLmsGIJkjMs&t=19
My initial day with it was a 7/10, but with potential for an 8. It has now crossed firmly into 8..teetering near 9 on some occasions. 8 is probably where it does land for me though. In short, it is a game that you need to give a little time to fully appreciate/get.
@rallydefault And least favourite?
The Karoakroke song birds for me. Too many obscure and frustrating challenges in that one for me. Hints are not great on it really.
Also, to a lesser extent, the Taggit one. Though, mostly from the frustration of trying to stack ten of them.😆 Did it though. Both are genius levels though.
@FishyS That really becomes the beauty of the game as whole. You start to get to know what sort of things might work or you could/should try out. It is rather satisfying when proven right. 🙂
Is this game fun…no bad guys? I was reading a review that mentioned there are no bad guys and watched a bit of gameplay footage and kinda just saw object collecting. I saw a comment about puzzles but didn’t see that in gameplay footage.
I love platformers, Mario is my favorite. I do like Yoshi games too. Loved Captain Toad Treasure Tracker…a lot.
I don’t know what it is about Switch 2 games but I’ve been kinda striking out. I need to watch footage before buying:
I bought Kirby Air Riders knowing nothing other than ‘Kirby game.’ After watching gameplay footage and realizing it was a racing game I returned it.
I bought DK Bananza knowing nothing other than ‘DK game.’ I got bored with the demo, even the extended play I got to do at the Nintendo truck event last year. It’s still unopened to see if my opinion changes, but it really seems like a ‘gold prospector’ game that got reskinned with DK & bananas last minute…so weird to dig around for bananas…
My Switch 2 came with MKW and it I don’t like it much and am already back to MK8…
I say all this to ask what I’m missing on Yoshi. I never thought I’d be asking this at all.
Woah, there is a section, where a creepy enemy chases you. The level with the spider is also a lot of fun. For me the best part about this game is, how varied the levels feel.
