I doubt we'll be seeing them retread New Super anytime soon, since Wonder was kind of a push away from that style. A Mario Maker 3 seems most probable to me; I'd be surprised if that wasn't in the cards, given that a game like that would absolutely benefit from SW2's mouse mode.
Well first of all, I think there's a high chance of a Switch 2 Edition for Wonder, and possibly relatively early (maybe 2026/2027?). I was predicting that they would save a new 2D Mario for Switch 2 because the IP is just too significant not to use to market the console for (even if it isn't the most technically demanding) and... that's actually still true. I suspect they want to wring a few more sales of this game out of people that may have missed it on its original run because it was a late gen title. As for what they could add, I think it kind of needs a new campaign similar to Forgotten Land. Anything else the Switch 2 could do for it just won't be that impressive I think. They'll probably improve the graphics, but again it's not a technically demanding game so I don't think people will be wowed by the graphics bump. There's nothing here that really works well with mouse controls. They could add GameChat features, but I don't think that's a game changer either. I think it has to be a campaign.
I do think they might want to do a sequel to Wonder later, but I'm unsure on the timing. Maybe it'll be late gen again. But Wonder was successful and I do think they'll want a follow up.
And yeah, definitely a Mario Maker game of some kind. But I'm torn on a Switch 2 Edition of 2 or a new one. On one hand, 2 felt kind of incomplete because there seems to be unplanned gameplay styles (as shown by the weird blank next to the 3D World style). On the other hand, maybe they'll just find it easier and more marketable to have a new one with mouse controls. Both would be nice. But again, I'm unsure on the timing.
As far as NSMB, we're definitely not getting a new one, it's way too controversial. We may get a collection of all 4 games though. And I feel like making it into one big mega game rather than 4 separate rehashy games is probably better for it anyway. They just feel like 4 parts of the same game.
Also I consider Mario vs. DK a spinoff, it's a bit too puzzly to be a main series game. And honestly I'm not entirely sure the direction they're taking that series, but it does seem like they're interested in revitalizing it somehow.

Mario Maker absolutely screams for a Switch 2 game so it can have mouse controls.
I do think we'll get Super Mario Maker 3 before the next new 2D Mario game. Mario Maker 3 should build on its predecessors and maybe even add a Mario Paint mode.
@FishyS We could get Switch 2 Edition Mario Wonder with some extra content, but I'm thinking Mario Maker 3 is next. It feels perfect for the mouse controls and it's been 6 years since the last one. It might work well with Mario's 40th anniversary too, since Mario Maker 1 was for the 30th anniversary.
@PikminMarioKirby I thought there was no chance of mario maker 3 for the 40th anniversary with all the other Switch 2 stuff coming, but I also thought a 3D Mario game was guaranteed, so I have given up predicting.
@FishyS That was my assumption as well, so I didn't consider it an option for Mario Maker 3 until at least 2026. Now it could fit really well as we still have at least 1-2 open slots for Switch 2 games this year, and we haven't gotten the Mario 40th Anniversary celebration(s) yet.
Ive given up on the series since the start of nsmb, besides spinoffs (35 and maker), so Im just hoping for maker 3. Id like the amiibo characters to return and also maybe let us mix and match assets from different games to create more bizarre levels. I can imagine playing as pacman in the goomba shoe while riding smw dolphins and avoiding yoshis island fuzzies.
