Topic: Switch 2 Missing News Panel

I recently encountered an issue with my Switch 2 where the news panel doesn’t show up on the side of the screen when waking up my system. I have tried restarting my system and clearing my cache but to no avail. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks

@SplatRay001 does it make a difference whether you are returning from sleep mode or turning your Switch 2 on from fully off? Also, is your device connected to the internet?

I tend to think of that news panel as an advertisement and I ignore it but... I thought there was no way to turn it off so it is odd it doesn't show up for you. You can go to the actual news menu after you log on of course.

@FishyS nope. Whether I go in sleep mode, restart or power it off, it doesn’t show up. And yes, my device is connected to the internet. But even when it hasn’t been, the news tab has still been there

It’s really weird, I’ve never seen this happen to anyone’s switch 1 or 2

Just to clarify, I can still obviously access the news app from the home screen

@SplatRay001 The news panel when you bootup or wake the is back. The other day, I noticed it was missing on mine, too.

@WoomyNNYes you’re right, it is back! So weird, this has never happened in all my years of owning a switch/switch 2
