I'm sold on this game. As soon as Ubisoft drop their pants and instigate a sale price, I'm 100% buying (Ubi seem to drop price after a couple of months post release on most games... hopefully a juicy discount in time for Santa)
@OutlawGamer Maybe there is still hope for Elden Ring? IIRC original feedback on Outlaws wasn't great... but the finished version knocked it out the park.
I've no interest in playing ER again, but really hope it gets into a decently playable state for Switch2 owners that have yet to experience this game
@OutlawGamer
Actually the mSD Express are perfectly readable by Windows. The data itself is encrypted (random folders and files with random numbers and letters for names) but it's readable in Windows. So you can literally just copy/paste the entire SD contents onto your PC or another mSD EX or even a regular mSD (won't be able to play it from a regular mSD but it's fine for storage).
Btw your Pro Controller can do gyro also. Be it the NSW2 Pro Controller or even the NSW1 Pro Controller. Just go into Settings, then Controls, then Advanced Control Options, then scroll down and check the box for gyroscope aiming. May want to increase sensitivity one or two notches in each axis as well, depending on your preference.

Im not worried about Elden Ring. We've seen time and again game after game that had performance issues in pre-release demos, like Cyberpunk 2077 and Star Wars Outlaws and even Cronos, yet upon release they were more than satisfactory.
I'm quite confident Elden Ring will not release until they've got it all sorted out. That's how porting works anyways. A few weeks to get it up and running, then 6-12 months optimizing to increase performance. They'll generate heat maps of the entire game showing where performance chokes and then area by area, detail by detail, work on making changes until the entire heat map is green without any red areas (maybe a few yellow areas remain which would be a dropped frame or two but thats no big deal).
The newest demo is already notably improved over the initial Gamescom version, as NintendoLife even reported. So progress is being made every single day up until release. If they can get it working on Steamdeck they'll get it working on NSW1. Unless the studio they contracted is just crap and isn't up to the task, but if thats the case I imagine they'd step in to get it in an acceptable state before release.
I'm more interested in Final Fantasy VII Remake which is reportedly near perfect already. Word is Silent Hill 2 will also come to Switch after exclusivity contract ends with Sony. Not that I care- horror isn't my jam (with the exception of Resident Evil). Still good for others though.
But getting back to Star Wars, I think you'll be amazed at how good a game this is. I'm befuddled as to why it didn't score higher upon its initial release. It's a really fun game. But, the original release didn't have gyro and tbh that's been the defining factor as to why it's so addictive for me. Even allows gyro on the speedbike. Shoot once and gyro activates a short while after so if you're continuing to shoot you can just use gyro to aim. It even has a dodge button on the speeder which is so awesome.
I just stole a ship and made it out to space. Its really starting to pick up. Kay is a great character and Nix is such a cute sidekick/pet, with actual core gameplay use.

@JaxonH Thanks mate, and I'm genuinely pumped to play it.
Similar to yourself, I'm amazed it landed originally with such a lukewarm reception.... I do think though that Ubisoft-developed games are up against a harder/higher benchmark due to the negative connotations regarding the company (not fully deserved IMO).
One of the most enjoyable gaming experiences I had during the pandemic was Immortals Fenyx Rising on Switch, which was an absolutely fine open-world romp and played like BOTW-lite (in the best possible way). The 'vaults' (aka shrines ) held a great degree of challenge and fun.
Immortals Fenyx Rising was a 9/10 all day. Prince of Persia was a 10/10 and Trials Rising a 10/10. 3 of the best games Ive played in tbe past 5 years yet none are getting sequels. Unbelievable. The Trials Rising team are the ones who ported Star Wars, so at least they were put to good use.
But people really need to pick up those 3 games, as well as the two Mario Rabbids titles. Nintendo gamers being technical focused lovers of gameplay Im shocked Trials Rising hasn't sold millions on Switch. On NSW2 it holds 720p without drops and has no framerate issues. And the new wireless GC controller analog triggers are supported. Or wired GC using the adapter.
But the right analog works incredibly well tbh, sometimes even better than triggers. I beat all extreme tracks with gold medals using right analog, unlocking Ninja Tracks.
Immortals looks good on NSW2 but tbh it looks better on my chipped OLED outputting the 720p docked image in handheld and overclocking for stable framerate. Can get 60fps but only if keeping the handheld image which to me, is the biggest detractor to the experience.
Prince of Persia is the best 2D metroidvania Ive ever played. Even tops Metroid Dread.

@JaxonH PoP Lost Crown I think is the embodiment of a how a 'modern' MV title should play, especially when you consider the wealth of QoL/accessibility features... they really knocked it out the park in that regard.
Nine Sols remains my #1
I enjoyed Immortals after it had been patched, but it has to be said that the initial release was a bit rough visually, and prone to crashes, and it very much played to the stereotype that you're better off waiting a for a few months with Ubisoft games.
It's good to hear that Outlaws has had, for the Switch 2 release at least, the attention it deserved before launch, though.
If anyone recalls my complaining that the first flight mission's dogfight combat was difficult (after repairing the Trailblazer ship on Toshara), I gave it another try, and it wasn't so hard this time. Don't know if my mindset was better, or maybe aim assist helping out. That quest is "False Flag".
Although, it turns out that was just the beginning of a longer 45mn quest that has you sneaking around some tie fighters, which was very cool. I did have to use youtube to figure a couple parts out, but the quest does have save points in it if you want to turn off the game and resume later.
Distracted stealth takedowns - We have to do at least of few of these to unlock an ability. I struggled with accumulating distracted takedowns because it seems like you have to use a bit of finesse sometimes to make the game place Nix in better, farther away, spots to distract enemies so they don't see you coming. Often, the first default places that are highlighted to send Nix when you press L aren't good locations to do the job. So, a little persistance/finesse made this work better for me. But this could all be user error, on my part.😆 Thought I'd mention this though, in case it helps someone else.
I’m really enjoying this game so far. No idea why so many people kept saying it was the worst thing ever released. I get that it’s not necessarily innovative, but then which AAA games are this generation? It’s a fun open-world game set in Star Wars universe that also happens to look amazing on Switch 2.
@OutlawGamer
I just activated it by checking the first box in the list, then increased sensitivity for X and Y axis by 1 notch. Left everything else the same. And it works for Pro controller, handheld mode, joycon, everything. Just like you'd expect it to.

@WoomyNNYes
Thanks for the tip- I'll keep that in mind moving forward.
@RenanKJ
The game scored reasonably well (75-80 depending on platform) but Ubisoft changed a lot post-launch. It's been improved quite a bit mechanically since then, which I think helps make it an even better game than when it originally released.
Then add gyro aiming on top of that for the NSW2 version and I'd add 5 full points to the score just for that alone. The discourse was more centered around it not selling well. But I dont understand anyone saying it's a bad game cause it's not. It may not be GotY but it's better than any Assassin's Creed I've played in the last 5 years, that's for sure. Id say it's the best game Ubisoft has released in the last 10 years aside from Prince of Persia, Trials Rising and the Mario Rabbids titles. Going further back you could add Splinter Cell Blacklist and Rayman Legends. But still, that's pretty high up there given how many other games they've released.

Ohh, there's a quest on Toshara where you explore a massive crash landed ship, like almost a destroyer sized ship. It's sick! I had been avoiding this quest because it was pinned to a scary looking Imperial fortress in the north west part of the Toshara map. After you find the objective device you need in that imperial fortress, the quest moves to another location, and it's a massive downed ship to explore. The quest is called "The Wreck." This is part of the main quest in the game. The main quests in the game have a star in their icon. I shouldn't have put this off this long.
I love this, and it's my most played game of 2025.
As a PC owner, I chose not to buy it due to Ubi Soft's always online DRM.
But, now it's on Switch 2 and can be played offline, it's great!
Great variety of missions, heaps of upgrade and upskill opportunities, and having fun designing Kay's outfit. I've got her in a black long sleeve top, black leather vest, black pants, and black knee-high boots.
Anyone else getting random crashes after long sessions? The game simply closes with an error message. Thankfully it autosaves after every meaningful action!

Me. It doesn't happen every session, but it does crash.
@UndockedActionFemme@RenanKJ
I'm pretty sure it was said this game has a memory leak, so if you play for long sessions you'll start getting noticeable pop-in and eventually a crash. So its a good idea if you've played for a few hours to save, close and relaunch just to be safe.
I'm sure they'll find the root cause eventually and patch it but, until then, just make sure to close and restart if you've been playing a long binge session.
