Topic: Rumble/Vibration Concern

Hi guys. I have a Switch 2 and was playing Chrono Cross in handheld mode. While playing, I noticed that the rumble/vibration feature of the System sounded and felt a little bit weird. Should I be concerned about this? When playing System in docked mode, I use an 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Bluetooth Controller, and the rumble/vibration on that is fine. Do you guys use the rumble feature in handheld mode and/or docked mode? Thoughts and help appreciated

Well first of all, you shouldn't be comparing the high quality HD Rumble 2 of NS2 to the rudimentary old-school rumble of a generic 8bitdo controller.

Unless the rumble sounds or feels different than that of another, actual official NS2 controller, there is no concern.

Thanks for the info! I don't have an official NS2 controller, is it worth it to get one? Also, I didn't know that 8BitDo was generic. Further thoughts and help appreciated

I think so. The official Switch 2 Pro Controller (not the Switch 1 Pro Controller) is the best I've ever used in my life.

Not only is it the most ergonomic and provides system wake alongside NFC functionality, it has glide analogs that are frictionless and don't contact the rim at all, but more importantly they have rear GL/GR grip buttons which are perfectly positioned with just enough pressure resistance, and can be mapped instantly via Quick Access Menu and remembered on a per game, per user basis, automatically re-applied to however you set it each time you launch a game.

It also has an audio jack and a GameChat button which ya, you can just access via the home menu icon but it's more convenient when it's just a button on the controller.

And, the HD Rumble 2 is superior to the HD Rumble of the original Switch. Which was already superior to generic rumble of 8bitdo.

Thanks again for the info! How do you charge a Switch 2 Pro Controller? Can it be charged through the S2 dock when my Switch 2 is in sleep mode?

Of course. I bought a cheap cradle that also charges Joycon 2 but, half the time I just plug in my main USB-C cable near my recliner I use for phone, Switch 2, Pro Controller, etc.

Any USB-C cable should work, and yes from the dock as well, if that's how you prefer to do it.
