Dang. Preorders delayed in the US due to tariffs and changing market conditions. But Im hearing the country making them is negotiating so hopefully price won't increase. I really don't think they wanna go that route- ppl are already unhappy. Any further increase might take a minority of core gamer protest and turn it into a genuine crisis that threatens the success of the console. Not that I think it would fail, but I do believe it would start having a tangible impact on sales.
Hopefully we'll get news sometime next week on preorders and MSRP remains unchanged.

Street Fighter 6 is looking really good. The sideways joycon mode using motion gestures actually seems very entertaining. I couldn't help but laugh while glued to my screen watching those 2 staff go at it.

@Ninfan No. It'll be Switch 2 only.
The OG Switch doesn't have the performance to handle GameCube emulation, at least not without modding and overclocking.
They can do switch updates. will the gamecube NSO just be released on switch 2 first then switch
Here's my Switch 2 Direct wishlist. As for the console, I will be boycotting it for many years.
I've got a massive gaming backlog, I'm in no hurry to inflate my already giant collection.
I also refuse to pay for $80+ Switch 2 games, that's just plain corporate greed in my opinion.

@Ninfan
Negative. GameCube is Switch 2 only and will remain Switch 2 only. It can't emulate GC well enough on Switch. If it were coming to Switch it would be announced already. They're not gonna stagger releases for NSO across platforms.
@WaveBoy
Probably won't be as good but it'll be good enough. Yakuza 0 runs at 1080p 55-60fps on PS4, but is 4k 60fps on Switch 2. So SF6 for sure will be 60fps. Whether it's 1080p or 1440p Idk. But it looks really impressive in that footage. Feedback from fighting fans so far is, and I'm paraphrasing here, "you can tell the textures are slightly less detailed when they show the 3 second facial animations before a fight, but besides that it's hard to tell you're not playing on a PS5"
If you want absolute peak graphics/performance Switch 2 will never hold up to PS5. But if that's not you, I can't imagine many games will be worth playing on other platforms anymore, since the gap is now basically just "4k instead of 1440p and slightly better graphics if you magnify it side by side". And I suspect if that outweighs getting both a console and handheld version combined for someone, they probably wouldn't be asking that question in the first place.
I know this video is long. But it is by far the best I've seen on Switch 2 to date. It covers everything, including pricing, correcting misinformation, dev feedback from in person questions in NY, personal feedback after hands on, recognizing the future is now with controller + mouse that instantly swaps into controller mode with gyro on a dime... you name it, they cover it. I highly recommend watching if you have time.

@WaveBoy Yet if the PS5/PS5 Pro version doesn't support Gyro aiming than I'm out, just like with Eternal even if it supports 120fps, better graphics and higher resolutions. Aiming with a stick-only in first person is a total drag.
That's quite the statement coming from you. But I totally agree. I've always appreciated visual fidelity and performance, but it's always been secondary to the gameplay experience.
My brother in Christ... I just realized...
Splatoon 4.
1080p 120fps.
Mouse aiming.

Wind Waker on the new GameCube app looks so much better than the original. It seems they've done a little more than just enchance the resolution. It looks not far off WWHD, just without the bloom. If every GameCube game looks this good, I will be so happy.
If I manage to get a Switch 2, at launch,.I expect my day one buys will be MKW (hopefully in the bundle), Yakuza 0, Ridge Racer and maybe FAST Fusion. And I'll have Wind Waker, F-Zero GX and Soul Calibur 2, on top..As well as an upgraded BOTW and TOTK . That is a super solid day one line up. Cyberpunk and Street Fighter 6 will likely be the my next buys. Cyberpunk will likely be one of the few physical games I buy. Then it's Donkey Kong the following month and hopefully MP4 not long after. I can't wait to see what Arcade Archives 2 brings.
Anyone think it's odd how little 3rd party support was announced for Switch 2? Like Microsoft's been boasting about how much they want to support Switch 2 but only announces a Switch 2 version of a game already coming to Switch 1 (THPS3+4).
@Grumblevolcano Yeah I was surprised, I was expecting some old games being bought over but there is very little big new/coming soon games like Doom which I was fully expecting to see announced. I can only hope that there was an issue in getting trailers sorted in time and it’ll all be announced via social media over the coming days/weeks otherwise it’s pretty depressing.

I think the third party games are fine so far. Elden Ring, Cyberpunk and SF6 are all pretty big games that people still play a lot nowadays. For a first presentation it’s pretty good imo
@Grumblevolcano I was definitely surprised not to see a Microsoft port of an older game or 4. I'm just assuming over the next year or two we will have a ton more big third party games.
@Grumblevolcano I'd expect to see them at some point, but maybe keeping them out of the first Direct so they're not overshadowed by other stuff? I'd at least expect to see the likes of Sea of Thieves and HiFi Rush that were already ported to PlayStation, but didn't get a Switch port.
I think they were just trying to keep the number of games per developer/publisher in the presentation to a minimum, to show a "taste" of their support.
We still got Elden Ring, Cyberpunk 2077, Street Fighter 6, and FF7 Remake all announced in one go.
We'll see more games announced over the coming weeks and months, especially if Nintendo does a June Direct.
@FragRed@FishyS@dmcc0 I thought Microsoft would've picked games that fitted with the new Switch 2 additions. Like Sea of Thieves would've been a good showcase for GameChat meanwhile a RTS game (Age of Mythology or Age of Empires 2) would've been a good showcase for mouse mode.
Like Burnout Paradise and Forza Horizon before it, I assume MKW will have an assortment of collectibles sprinkled throughout the open world. Perhaps Nintendo will breakdown what those will unlock.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,537 games (as of December 22nd, 2025)
Switch 2 Physical Collection - 4 games (as of December 8th, 2025)
@Magician My hype for the game is at a 10/10 and my hype for the Direct maybe around an 8/10. I'm honestly very curious about what secrets they have left to show that we haven't already seen. Think there's gotta be some stuff. I'd also definitely like to know more details about free roam as that's the one part of the game I'm not entirely sold on yet.
