Since Switch 1 game carts do not have the faster transfer speed of Switch 2 carts, if we are playing the upgrade off the SW1 cartridge on SW2.. how do you get the benefit of the much faster loading times?
Is the system going to make us download the entire tears of kingdom sw2 version to harddrive first?
Nintendo should update their accessories price to rescind the increase announced last month. The federal court has blocked the tariffs so they shouldn’t pass on the increase to consumers anymore.
Holy tap dancing christ you are right the courts did! Something good!
@Anti-Matter
The US federal court blocked the “liberation day tariffs” so it shouldn’t be valid now. If it’s getting appealed then I’m not sure the tariffs can still be in place or not during the appeal process after it’s blocked.
@Don They won't lower them yet, cause all the accessories currently in the US were tariffed when they came in. It'll probably take a couple months for them to get to non tariff affected units.
@Bigmanfan Capcom did start adding microtransactions into their big games after the review period was over in order to preserve review scores while getting extra money from the microtransactions.
@Grumblevolcano Oh yeah I forgot about that, that was some major scumbag behavior. I still just can't see it though. Nintendo hasn't really ever seemed particularly interested in microtransactions, and they're already providing a ton of costumes for free, so it feels like it would be tough to sell.
@Bigmanfan thank you for answer, I did same almost 5 years ago to my little brother where we moved he's profile from my NS1 to he's brand new NS1V2, but now I can't remember how that worked and this time it will be whole New Console Gen move to me, so!
Now I feel Full Transfer is more worth it cause do almost every game expect just 1 game manually just for couple Items Trades when I was already prepearing my mind for other solution since April 2nd (get second copy of Violet, trade from my Scarlet save to my little brother's Violet save, trade from my little brother's Violet save to my Violet save) feels less worth it. Plus I need hope that System Transfer from NS1 to NS2 doesn't reset my NS1 and I can choose which Save Files & Games I don't want Transfer yet with that System Transfer if I still wanna do those Items Trades straight between my Saves?!

Slightly concerned about my Switch 2 pre-order from Game, pre ordered it a couple of months ago (april 4th to be exact) and I haven’t had any emails since regarding it. I’m scared that my pre order has been cancelled without any warning and the pre order isn’t connected to my account. Anyone who placed the pre order from game, have you also had no emails since placing the pre order? Just trying to ease my paranoia a bit.

Oh man i was just reading a story about how Game had randomly cancelled a bunch of peoples Switch 2 orders without an explanation:
"UK high street chain Game has apologised after it cancelled some pre-orders of the hotly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2.
Gamers have waited years for the Switch 2 - the successor to one of the best-selling consoles in history - with the new model being finally released to the public on 5 June.
But some of those who pre-ordered the Switch 2 through Game will now not be able to get their hands on it on its release date.
"We understand how disappointing this is, especially for those who have been eagerly awaiting their order," Game wrote in a post on social media."
@Bentleyma I actually had a look back through some previous game pre orders like spider-man 2 and the like, I wasn’t given any notification that it was coming until like two days prior to release day so that’s somewhat eased my worries about the switch
Game are absolutely shocking these days, I ordered some PS5 games from them before Christmas, using them for the first time in years as they had good offers on. 10 days had passed without any communication or dispatch in the end I cancelled it which was a pain in itself but said I’d never use them again. Hope you guys get sorted fingers crossed for you

Game almost feels like it’s nothing more than some shady business scheme run by the bloke that owns half the U.K. high street under his Sports Direct company.

They've been reinstated for two weeks while the appeal process happens. Also they were never really valid, the argument was that they were added because of the "fentanyl emergency" which maybe flies for Mexico but is a bit of a stretch for most of the world. Even the "global security" argument kinda breaks when you're applying it to Australia, Japan, South Korea, the EU. Presumably it gets escalated through to the Supreme Court who aren't exactly apolitical..... so I wouldn't hold out too much hope here....
Anyways, in terms of Switch 2 the accessories are already shipped. And even if they weren't there's know knowing where it goes next. The entire thing is highly unpredictable, there's no way they can plan around it. That's honestly a large part of the problem. How can Nintendo price something that one day has a 50% tax, oops now it's 10%, now from here it's 150%, 50%, 0% maybe? No 10% again
Yeah, they're not moving the pricing on every piece of news here
@WaveBoy
Dang, I’m the total opposite. I usually play my Switch handheld.
I have a 4k tv, but it’s a little long in the tooth at this point. You can kind of see the dark spots on it when the scene is really bright. I’ve probably had it for over 10 years.
Just a FYI...if you preordered from Walmart, you can quickly check your preordered item status under Purchase History in the Walmart app. My Switch will arrive on Jun 5th and Mario Kart World will arrive on Jun 6th (because, yes, I did indeed pay the $90 for the physical version by choice).

Your wall ot text dismissing the value of a regular mouse as an option can be ignored with one single observation. Not all mouse mode games will need those additional features or buttons and they already support controllers on Switch that lack all the buttons
If you can choose to play 2D indie games with the official NES NSO Controller I don't see why you shouldn't be able to choose to play Civ 7 or Game Builder Garage with a Logitech mouse. Or even something like Metroid Prime 4. Will you not get the rumble? Sure. Will you lose the other buttons beyond the L/R clicks? Yep. Will gyro go? Sure. But I suspect for a lot of games that use mouse mode that won't matter
I don't see an issue to having official standard mouse support as an option at an OS level
@skywake I feel like something like Prime 4 would be hard to play with a USB mouse due to how the mouse only really replaces the aiming and shooting mechanics, and not the rest of the buttons that would go with the other commands. I do think games like Civ 7 or Game Builder Garage could work with it.
"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."
@VoidofLight
That's true, but again, they let you boot into and play Smash Bros with the SNES NSO controller. I don't see why they should restrict me from using a regular mouse in mouse mode games, even if it doesn't strictly work due to additional features required
Not saying that games should all be required to support it. Just saying I don't see why it couldn't be a "yes, this works, just some things don't map". Otherwise you end up with a scenario where Devs have to explicitly support it which means less support in games that would work perfectly fine with just a regular mouse

@Bentleyma hey that’s awesome! I should probably do the same and message customer service but i definitely feel a lot less worried now. I wouldn’t worry too much about the dispatch date, at least you know it’s coming!
