Topic: Nintendo Switch 2

The Nintendo Today app just showed off the box for Mario Kart World, using the American, European and Japanese versions (although the European box is in German somehow). The spine for the American release has a unique font in the middle, Japanese box spine also has the spine in the middle, while the European spine still uses the standard Nintendo of Europe spine font and instead puts it right after the Switch 2 logo.

One other change with the US box is the fact that it now lists all supported languages instead of just saying “Contenu de jeu en français/Contenido del juego en español.” Here’s how Mario Kart World (and other Switch 2 games although their list of supported languages may vary:

GAME CONTENT IN/CONTENIDO DEL JUEGO EN: DE, EN, ES-LAT, FR-CAN, IT, JA, KO, NL, PT-BRA, RU, ZH

Actually find this method better, although for some reason they didn’t list EN-GB, ES-ES, FR-FR and PT-PT there, nor were Simplified and Traditional Chinese listed separately.

Recently been remembering Kid Icarus Uprising. Still crossing my fingers that one day somebody at Nintendo can get a sequel or something started for that.

I haven’t played Virtua Fighter since… well, probably first game? I don’t remember which. But I’m glad Sega announced the latest is coming to Switch 2, and that didn’t wait just to be revealed in a Nintendo Direct.

The best part is it has full cross-platform play between all platforms, Switch 2, PS5 and the lot. This game and THPS 3+4 also has full crossplay. But this almost certainly means Virtua Fighter 6 is a lock for Switch 2.

@Quantumz00 I didn’t even think of linking the images at first. But I think this Mario Kart World packaging 3D view can give us an idea on what to expect for other Switch 2 game covers.

Virtua Fighter 5 REVO announcement pretty much means switch 2 is my favorite system.

Random small QoL feature: buying a game from the eShop now removes it from your wishlist rather than having to go to a different menu and trying to find it.

Switch 1 now has this also; seems to be part of the virtual game card system.

Actually PS5 store also did same thing.
Once you purchased the digital games, they will get removed from your wish list so it is really convenient.

@FishyS Oh, thank goodness they changed that. That bothered me a bit when I would buy a game from my eShop wish list, then having to go back and remove it myself. I wonder what took them this long, though... but better late than never.

The whole virtual card system is pretty sweet, honestly. I give them major props for implementing it.

It looks like the Switch 2 is getting a system lock PIN feature

Also just came out Switch 2 has a battery preservation option - you can set the Switch 2 so it stops charging your battery at 90%. Sweet.

@Quantumz00 Most of the time I just leave my Switch charging in the dock until it’s at 100%.

@JaxonH I guess after those huge losses they made and the backlash from the Switch 2 edition, they caved. Now if only Sega would follow suit and also just do upgrades instead of full paid versions.

@JaxonH Wait, WHAT!? Could I see a source? Not that I don’t trust you, this is just a game I really don’t want to play on switch 1, but on the fence for switch 2. Current gen AAA video game for 30$ is too good to pass up though.

Has anyone in the US been able to purchase the GameCube NSO controller? It’s supposed to be available for purchase to all NSO members starting today but I still can’t purchase it. The page just says “Releases June 5” and a few days ago it says “Open to invite only”.

Lol, Furukawa said something about the sales being a challenge because of the price, and this site dissabled the comments. They should be ashamed of themselves!

Unfortunately for UK, Hogwarts Legacy isn't on sale over here on the eshop. I don't know if you need the digital edition to be entitled to the upgrade.
