@Grumblevolcano
I get Nintendo likes these things for their Directs, but it's like come on, not every 3rd party game coming to Switch 2 needs a separate announcement. It's ok to just reveal the Switch 2 version alongside everything else. Kind of annoying.
That said, we know all those Xbox games will release on Switch 2. So it's all good. When it's all said and done, we'll have Gears of War on Switch 2, Forza Horizon, Halo, all that jazz. And that's incredibly exciting because even if they don't incorporate gyro aiming (I hope they do) they'll for sure at least integrate mouse mode.
I'll be waiting with great anticipation to play the entire Xbox catalog on Switch 2.

You and I have had many discussions about gyro and IR and control methods, but one thing I think I never mentioned is, despite IR obviously being more accurate than gyro, I can't stand Wiimote controls in light of modern gyro control schemes. Turning the camera was downright awful in MPT thanks to no right analog. Gyro's weakness is drift over time, but when combined with the right analog for camera it's constantly being recalibrated.
I do wish IR could be integrated with a right analog, but the modern gyro control scheme is so good, I really don't care much tbh. There are games that would greatly benefit like Panzer Dragoon and House of the Dead, Mario Galaxy, etc. But stuff like Cyberpunk 2077 and Metroid Prime 4 I do prefer the current gyro-analog hybrid method.
But as someone who is acutely aware superior control schemes exist that make playing any game requiring aiming on Xbox/PS unplayable to me, I am extremely excited for the mouse integration in Switch 2. While most Switch games requiring aiming did incorporate gyro, not every game did. Serious Sam and Bulletproof come to mind. I think mouse mode is going to ensure every game requiring aiming has a superior control method to pure analog.
And that's incredibly exciting. I tested out using a joycon on its side yesterday to see how mouse mode will feel (it's not perfect since new joycon are larger and with the mouse attachment will be taller and more stable, but it's close enough) and I was surprised how good it felt. It boosted my confidence in using joycon as a mouse being a viable option.
I'll almost certainly get an accessory to make it feel like a fat mouse but I like the idea of just lifting it to go back to gyro-analog as needed. But with the attachment I may never want to. I can't wait to try it in Cyberpunk 2077.

@FishyS Hold the phone, up to 2,000 games? I thought it would just depend on how much storage you currently have. We learn something new every day I guess, I'm not even close to that many. Anyway, since the Switch 2 could seemingly run most Switch games, I don't see why it wouldn't increase the limits for game icons and folders. They'll probably increase the wish list size later down the road because of the Switch 2 games coming out.

@MarioVillager92 I'm very curious how many people in the world have ever hit that 2,000 limit. A couple people in the forums have mentioned it in the past and occasionally there is an article about some mad collector hitting it.
I have an insanely large library but even I am not close to 1,000 much less 2,000. Granted, there are probably 2,000 eShop games which cost a dollar each so it wouldn't even be that expensive to hit in the long run.
@FishyS Yeah... no judgment of course, haha. I do have a good amount of games for the Switch myself, but my library isn't super large or anything. Only getting games that interest me.

@FishyS That 2000 icon limit seems pretty generous considering that it was only 300 on the Wii U and 3DS.
Still, I wouldn't be surprised if it gets bumped up even further. It's not in Nintendo's interest to get in the way of people wanting to buy that many games, even if there aren't a lot of them.
It's insane seeing fanboys get upset at people for not wanting to buy the console. Why do the few I've seen on this forum care so much if someone doesn't want to buy it right now due to being underwhelmed? If someone doesn't like the fact that Nintendo is reselling slight upgrades of old games at a premium, then they don't like it. End of story.
Also- I agree with @Banjo- when they say that you still have to pay for the upgrades. If you have to pay for Expansion Pass to get them for "free," they are not free. They are paid. You just get more if you sub to Expansion Pass than if you paid for the upgrades flat out.

Alright... 1 month to go! Here's a rundown of what I'm looking forward to the most:
I need me that Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma on Switch 2. I'm even more excited for Daemon x Machina: Titanic Scion but Rune Factory can hold me over. I'll be greatly disappointed if Rune Factory doesn't perform well given the fact it's not only console exclusive to Nintendo but comes all on a 64GB cart, and plays the NSW1 version if inserted into a Nintendo Switch. All that talk of keycards, I expect games like this to be supported. Otherwise don't be surprised when all 3rd party games go digital (not that I care- I'm digital anyways, I say this for the sake of those physical purists out there). The last great Rune Factory was back in the 3DS era when Rune Factory 4 dropped (yes it's on Switch now but it's kinda dated at this point).
Street Fighter 6 is a game I simply must own. Street Fighter II Turbo was one of my first SNES games, Super Street Fighter IV 3D was my first 3DS game, Ultra Street Fighter II was one of my first Switch games. It's only appropriate to grab the newest entry on Switch. Glad M. Bison and Akuma are in. Same for Mai and Terry. Hoping we see Sagat and Vega in season 3.
Cyberpunk 2077, I've been waiting for Switch 2 before fully diving in as I suspected it would release for the console. Wasn't expecting it so soon, but I'm not complaining. Having gyro aiming and mouse integration (and touchscreen support with HD Rumble 2) sounds like a dream. Loved Witcher 3. But Cyberpunk needs gyro/mouse aiming to properly enjoy. Switch 2 is delivering that in spades. Hybrid advantage just makes it even more exciting.
Mario Kart World, what can I say. It's Mario Kart. I love Mario Kart- been playing it since the SNES. And this is the first one to actually excite me in a hype sort of way since the original MK8 was revealed for Wii U (that turned out to be fantastic but also a disappointment with no bespoke battle mode tracks). It actually gives me something to do in between races. I have a feeling I'll be spending dozens of hours fully exploring the world and completing all the challenges I find.
And I can't forget to mention Hogwarts Legacy. Yes I know it already released on Switch. But that version had some pretty big concessions. This release is built ground up based off the PS4 version and assets- it's not a simple upscale of the Switch version. I love Harry Potter, and having a proper version on a hybrid handheld is exactly what I've wanted from the day the game was first revealed. This one may not be getting the same attention as some of the other launch titles but for me it's an instant purchase.
Those are the big 5. Of course I'll be grabbing Yakuza 0 and Fast Fusion but they're lower down on the hype list. Also considering Hitman and Civilization VII. Like to build up some variety right off the bat. I'm just not sure if those will grab me. I tried to get into Civ 6 and found it confusing but the mouse integration and queuing addition makes me want to give the series another go. And I liked Hitman Blood Money, but I need to see if this one has gyro or mouse aiming.
Is that everything? Not forgetting anything I hope. Oh, the Zelda remasters. Yes. I never finished Tears of the Kingdom so that one is for sure exicting. And there's Welcome Tour but that's more a guided intro to the system's capabilities. Not really counting that one.

Also. Play The Hundred Line. It's incredible.

I'm excited to get my hands on Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong, but that's probably all I'll be getting until they reveal other games I'll be interested in. Will definitely get Z-A on Switch 2 though. That, Gen 10 (when it's revealed next year), and whatever comes up from Monolithsoft in either 2026 or 2027.

How nice is it gonna be playing a Pokemon with resolution that doesn't go below 1080p and an actual locked 60fps.
