@Ralizah the whole thing was a giant cluster. Target was the most frustrating since it was in my cart and wouldn't let me pay. Walmart had me in a line for an eternity. And best buy had stock on and off. Finally was able to get through though. It just seems like this whole thing was luck based.
@NintendoByNature I knew it would be. Unprecedented demand, scalping, and while the tariff situation isn't as immediately disruptive as the 2020 covid lockdowns, I'm sure it's not helping either. Plus these sites often crash under the sheer weight of so many people trying to pre-order a new console at the same time.
@Ralizah agreed. I do feel for those who weren't able to secure a pre-order. I doubt I did anything differently than they did, other than refreshing, and checking both apps and websites at the same time.
Quick PSA: If you didn't get one check Walmart again. It was a mess last night, but for some reason my local store had the bundle in stock, so I was able to get a preorder in a couple minutes ago.
Edit: Also, Gamestop's site is a hilarious mess right now lol
Should be $15-20 USD then, which is fantastic!!! Also I guess the European eShop has opened up preorders for Switch 2 games and the upgrade packs. Kinda pointless right now without the system but whatever
@IceClimbers
I saw that on social media last night. Shinen coming in hot with the $15 launch title. And you know it's gonna be worth every penny.

Shin'en is great. I bought digital and physical copies of Fast RMX. Although I'm surprised Nano Assault Neo never made its way over to the Switch. And I still need to play The Touryst at some point; it's in the backlog.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,533 games (as of December 8th, 2025)
Switch 2 Physical Collection - 4 games (as of December 8th, 2025)
@Grumblevolcano Probably not, considering their eShops are different, but Switch 1 games are gonna be added to the Switch 2 eShop based on that one video showing off its eShop.
What a nightmare trying to preorder this thing has been. Websites exploding, carts emptied, lines that never update or only update to say out of stock, etc etc. Still haven't secured one.

Yes, great developer.
I bought 4 of their games for the 3DS. Nano Assault EX and Art of Balance Touch were excellent, Jett Rocket 2 was good.
For the Switch I bought Fast RMX and I will definitely buy Fast Fusion on the Switch 2.
@TeeJay it's annoying for sure. Hate to say it, but just keep checking throughout the day, stock seems to be on/off. Maybe go into a Gamestop if you can. Or at least call ahead and ask if they're taking pre-orders still.
It hurts my soul a little bit. To have Nintendo encouraging digital over physical with their third party partners. But it's cool. It'll refrain me from buying many games, saving thousands of dollars. I can't be mad at Nintendo for that.
Conversely, microsd card producer Lexar must be jumping up and down with joy right now. Everyone will want a 1TB microsd express card, and Lexar have the only one on the market at this time. I wouldn't trust the Gamestop-branded 1TB micro sd express cards, which is just the Lexar card at a higher price. There's money to made with the Switch 2 launch you know.

Got my in store preorder with GameStop. I am missing one amiibo (yunobo) but I figure I will try again at launch. Gives Nintendo time to increase allotments. My plan had been to get the amiibo all from Best Buy but their site crashed at midnight my time.

I'm a Dream Fighter. Perfume is Love, Perfume is Life.
Welp, I completely struck out on Switch 2 pre-orders
Gonna have to hope I get an invite from Nintendo then, or pray I get lucky finding one on launch day/soon after.
Honestly wouldn't be surprised if the system stays out of stock long after launch as long as it stays the current price here in the US, with many consumers completely unable to buy it before they have to increase the price because of the tariffs.
