Regarding the new Direct, the only thing I definitely don’t see being announced: Switch 2 themes
Pretty clear themes are just not on Nintendo’s priorities anymore.Yes they do have extra resources to work with than back in the Switch 1, but instead they’re using part of them to make the Switch 2 OS and eShop run smoother and add new features like GamChat, and then they’re saving the rest for games
It ends like 10 minutes before I need to leave for work 😂. Anyway, it's time for my predictions which are totally going to be not correct.
Some trailers for Star Fox, Rhythm Heaven Groove, and Splatoon Raiders
Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave for August 2026
The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Remake for September 2026
Switch 1 port of Kirby Planet Robobot for late 2026
Switch 1 ports of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD for early-mid 2027
Luigi's Mansion 4 for October 2026
A Switch 2 Edition for November 2026, perhaps Pikmin 4
Something Nintendo Switch Sports for the Switch 2, even if it's just a Switch 2 Edition, Sometime in 2026, perhaps August or October
Switch 1 or perhaps just Switch 2 remakes of Golden Sun and Golden Sun the Lost Age for sometime in 2027, Dark Dawn remake for 2028, and announcement that a fourth Golden Sun game is in development (yeah, I know I'm pushing it with this one, 😅).
MAYBE just a teaser trailer for the next 3D Mario or Super Smash Bros., neither of which are coming out until mid-late 2027 at the earliest.
@MrCarlos46 not themes, but several of the nso apps just got major version bumps (game boy is 4.0.0), and supposedly internal code suggests "challenges" are a thing that might be coming soon.
i dunno, just felt like mentioning that.
remember; your chicken parm is not safe around me!
What's everyone's most irrational and insane prediction that they're predicting purely based on gut feeling? For me it's TOTK Expansion Pass (it'll be bad and not worth the wait but it'll come).
"well it appears I am upside down. what ever will I do?"

"ALWAYS BET ON SEPTEMBER 17th OCARINA OF TIME REMAKE"
@UpsideDownRowlet The re-reveal of Fairgame$ (apparently its new name is Break In). PS players talk about every Sony live service game as the next entry in the Concordian saga, Geoff got burned having Game Awards 2025 close with Highguard and naturally Sony doesn't want their games in an Xbox showcase so they give the re-reveal to Nintendo.
@UpsideDownRowlet didn’t they already say there absolutely would be no expansion pass for totk at all? and with the switch 2 edition already out that'd cause some controversy-but you never know, i hope so!
Mine is an animal crossing remake of some kind, maybe city folk? 😬
BRING NINJI INTO MARIO KART WORLD RIGHT NOW.

I'm still crossing my fingers for NSO Wii, with a brand new Wii remote Plus, Wireless Nunchuck & Wired USB Sensor Bar that can be used outside the NSO service for certain NS2 games like Prime 4, Super Mario Galaxy 1+2, House of the Dead 1&2 Remake, just to name a few.
I'm also hoping for both Pikmin 4(NS2) & Luigi's Mansion 3(NS2), running at 60fps, with at least 1080p.
A new Kid Icarus, or Uprising Remaster, Punch-Out!! & Wario Land sequels, StarTropics Reboot(Wishful thinking!), a WarioWare Sequel or Mario Paint 2 that's built around Joy-Con 2 mouse controls. Ocarina of Time remake would be great obviously, but I'd rather see Zelda II: Adventure of Link get that treatment instead.
And, a more colorful/themed Pro 2 Controller would be nice, to bypass the constant defecto'/standard black & white color scheme so many modern controls are pushing. It would be awesome too if Nintendo did whipped out a DS Lite + 3DS NSO service(Before or after NSO Wii) and found a way to incorperate both Stereoscopic 3D, Dual Screens & MR with NS2 in handheld mode, bundled it with a stylus, and whatever peripheral/attachment that's needed to get the job done.
@squiddu-real don't worry, if DLC for TotK was announced, I wouldn't be super upset, I just wouldn't buy that DLC and would proclaim as such in the inevitable NL article about it in a peaceful manner. I'd also proclaim my usual "hopefully, whoever plays it enjoys it", in case you haven't noticed my tendency of doing that (which I haven't been doing as often lately, mainly because of my recently gotten job taking up some of my NL article reading time so I read less articles).
I just like using YouTube video links for a bit of humor here and there 😅.
Finally, a Direct, and speculation is skyrocketing (not “just” here, but all over the internet).
To avoid disappointment, I'm toning down my expectations a bit, it's healthier that way.
My “expert” (cough) prediction is.....
A bit of Star Fox
Some Splatoon Raiders
A release date for Fire Emblem
The OOT remake with an announcement of the Switch 2 bundle in OOT design (Download code for the game)
Something new from Duskblood & Elden Ring
Something about the Zelda movie
Smash Bros. Switch 2 Edition
Possibly a Witcher 3 Switch 2 Edition
and, with a looooot of luck, a first teaser for Luigi’s Mansion 4
I don’t expect anything more than that, and even some of that is just wishful thinking.
Arguing with stupid People is like playing Chess with a Pigeon. No matter how well you play Chess, the Pigeon will knock over all the pieces, poop on the board, and strut around as if it had won.
The Ocarina of Time remake will be revealed in tomorrows presentation, with a special Zelda Anniversary Direct to follow in the upcoming weeks.
Metroid fans will also have a good reason to celebrate tomorrow.
