Topic: Next Nintendo Direct?

Here’s some predictions, nothing too wild:

Zelda WW/TP bundle
Xenoblade Chronicles X port
DK 64 for expansion pass
Mario and Luigi Remake
Something Kirby related (sorry, not a fan of Kirby but I know IP is too prominent to avoid)
Dragon Quest HD-2D
Something Fire Emblem related
Pac-Man world 2 remake
Metroid Prime 2 remaster

Not a sexy list, but I’m not expecting too much in this Direct apart from ports, remasters, and remakes. Totally okay. Don’t need to hear about MP4 or the next Mario yet, I’m happy with some well handled re-releases of older titles, especially coming off TTYD. Loved it!

I think if a couple of these happen, along with a nice surprise like a new DK game maybe, then I’d say it’s a successful Direct.

@Ulysses is an Epic Yarn port out of the ordinary for a wish? That is something I’d be interested in picking up for Switch.

@link3710 The Game Boy DK platformers would be great... Donkey Kong '94 would especially be awesome. Wouldn't mind giving it another playthrough on NSO!

Edit: Just saw that Kirby's Epic Yarn got mentioned. Loved that game on the Wii and I'd like a Switch version as well.

Here's my too-good-to-be-true thoughts, taking many of the ideas shared (great ideas, btw). Mario Wonder DLC, TOTK Expansion/DLC (Nintendo said it isn't happening, but this is would be amazing), Online Roadmap + Gamecube (throw in TG16 & GameGear for good measure), 2D Kid Icarus, New DKC, Metroid Prime 2 & 3 shadow drop + 4 Trailer (Dec launch), some 3rd party games, Metal Gear Volume 2, F-Zero GX w/ Switch Online, Windwaker + Twilight Princes, out soon, Earthbound 3, Chrono Trigger, with the big surprise being a quick look at the Switch 2 Mario Game (no console, only preview). With low expectations, I'm just excited to see what is coming.

Well, it's later than Pyoro leaked the last couple direct dates... assuming the direct is next week.

@FishyS I'd prefer if he didn't leak anything at all personally: this is the most 'in-the-dark' we've been for a Direct in ages and I love it XD

@Fizza I just want to know the day so I can try to schedule for it. 😑 being in-the-dark about the content of the direct is fun, but not knowing the exact date is just annoying.

Imagine if the government didn't tell you when holidays were and they just randomly surprised you the day before so you could never plan anything for them.

That Among Us announcement seemed ripe for a shadow-drop and marketing wise, it leaves Nintendo with a good bit of room for some post-Direct-promo for before moving onto to hyping up LM2HD at full throttle!

Not direct related but yacht club had their presentation and more or less they confirmed shovel knight is going 3D! Mina and the Hollower is looking great too.

I don't really need to imagine that, it more or less happened a couple of years ago. When the Queen died the Australian government announced a day of mourning on the Thursday barely a week before. I think it maybe have been on the Friday before? And in WA it happened to be the Thursday before the newly renamed King's Birthday long weekend. I believe in Victoria the Friday was the AFL Grand Final public holiday also?

I went and requested that Friday off also because, well, Thursday off and the next Monday off? That Friday would've really sucked, nothing was going to get done. But then early that week my work decided that EVERYONE was taking that Friday off (presumably partly because our Vic office was off for Friday anyways). And, frankly, even as a republican (in the Australian sense) I wasn't at all complaining about the impromptu 5 days off in recognition of the Royals

I finished Endless Ocean Luminous so I guess it's wait for Direct time now.

All I'm really expecting for this one is maybe some ports that I don't really care about and some other filler titles that I don't really care about. Anything interesting would be a nice surprise.

It is interesting that our favourite bird hasn't chirped yet though. Especially if it's as soon as the 18th. But that could easily just be that that leak has been plugged, either directly or indirectly. Or just any number of other reasons. Dude could be on holidays for all we know

June 19th is basically the day it was last year ( that Wednesday) but Nintendo of America is closed June 19th so the 2 most obvious guesses are flip a coin for 18th or 20th ...

In theory it could also be on the 25th, 26th, or 27th ( I'm assuming Nintendo doesn't totally change pattern and do it on Friday or whatever). Lack of bird tweet makes me wonder about that week, but it's a little silly to assume reliable leaks for one year will extend to forever — they will stop at some point we just don't know when.

It was also pointed out that Twitter/X no longer lets you see who liked a post, so one of Pyoro's favored leakage methods is no longer possible.

What I'd like to see would be something like a high quality, stylised 2D game of some kind. A new 2D Zelda, Metroid or DK game. A Wario Land or similar would also hit that spot. Obviously I'd also like to see some big adventure game also but I think we can probably discount that as a possibility. Presumably such a game would be held for Switch 2. Even so, the dream Direct for me would include something like an Astral Chain

Realistically though I'm expecting remakes and remasters. Which is enough for me given where we are in the Switch cycle and where my expectations are. But it'd be nice to see something come way out of left field. Like last year with Wonder, Super Mario RPG and TTYD coming from nowhere

There was that random rumour of a 2D Zelda game with playable Zelda. That would be wonderful.

famiboards are going nuts conjecturing why Pyoro hasn't tweeted 😝 Meanwhile, a couple of the leakers with inconsistent track records such as Brazil and Papa Genos are saying Tuesday.

Just had a little look at Pyoro's history and for the June direct last year, he only started leaking two days prior to when it aired so I don't think all hope is lost for him just yet.

Here's a question. If Nintendo announced the date in advance like Microsoft and Sony would it make the wait for them any easier?

@GrailUK I like it when the announcement is just a day before the Direct. Not a fan of having a long wait between announcement and presentation.
