Topic: Next Nintendo Direct?

Imagine they really just do a direct mini where it gets shadow-dropped.

@FishyS Looking at the Famiboards thread, there's more to the leak, with names and descriptions for each form juxtaposed against previously unseen screenshots of the areas they belong to. It's not fake.

If they had all these different trailers/announcement-type things (well I guess just Side Order and DK vs Mario stop motion thing) couldn't they have put together a direct mini out of these odds and ends, especially happening so close together? I mean Nintendo does as Nintendo pleases but they could have avoided a direct mini so they could have their partner direct? Not a new take but this certainly corroborates the idea.

@chiiizu The Direct Mini variant which isn't Partner Showcase still had unannounced 1st party games. So the decision to do trailers + Partner Showcase suggests that we know everything 1st party outside of Pokemon that'll be announced prior to Switch 2 reveal.

Looks like Rare teased the rumours of Sea of Thieves going to PlayStation and Switch

No announcement at 2PM yet; would it be announced at 3PM instead to adjust for the clocks changing or no?

It's more likely a Valentines Day lol than a tease for the game being ported.

This is all positive though, well for Switch 2 at least. I suppose this really does just leave a Partner Direct as the last possibility whether that be announced in an hour or shadow-dropped, I'm not sure really

@Nintoz They could also be announcing this Peach info now due to it being Valentine's Day (which is arguably the best day you could drop a trailer for a game like this XD) but yeah: it does throw a lot of our assumptions out the window. Guess we'll just have to wait until 3PM to see what, if anything, happens!

I really don’t get it sometimes. Some People keep clamouring for a direct, knowing it will likely be a partner one that they will complain about it being a partner one? Or maybe they let the internet people pull a rug over their heads again? I don’t know anymore

(I mean the ones on Twitter who do this everytime, I know there are people who either don’t care or would love a partner direct, because I’m one of them!)

Keep in mind that partner directs have been shadow dropped before with no prior announcement, so that could be the case again. Otherwise, the only February direct we'd likely be getting this year would be for Pokemon Day in about a couple of weeks

@jump Nah it’s got to be a tease because the rumours told me it was coming and therefore I will deliberately see vague references in anything and everything no matter how absurd it is 😝

If we get Sonic X Shadow Generations stuff and Mario And Sonic at the Paris Olympics that would be cool.

@PikaPhantom I recall something about getting rid of Mario in Mario & Sonic to allow the franchise to go multiplatform.
