The only prediction that I have is the Persona 3 Remake. I got nothing outside of that lol. This might be for the better because I'll end up being even more surprised by any new reveals 😂
@TheBigBlue Honestly? I think the opposite. Arround the Wii generation, 2D Mario clearly sold more than 3D Mario but nowadays it's the opposite. At the very least looking at the sales of Super Mario Maker 2 or New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe. And 2D Mario is also easier to develop than a 3D one so a 2D Mario game at the end of the life of a console is not impossible. I see that more possible than a 3D Mario at the very least.
Also, it's true that Square remakes their old games a lot recently (no complaints there honestly...) but seeing how Mario RPG games are basically dead, with the Mario+Luigi developer long gone and Mario+Rabbids also probably dead (since Ubisoft said it didn't sell amazingly and such), it'd make perfect sense to remake Mario RPG.
I don’t see the 2D Mario thing happening just because a pyoro on twitter said so. It’s far too late in the switch’s lifespan. That’s a next Gen release right there.
You're probably right, but in my eyes there's nothing stopping Nintendo from revealing one tomorrow for 2024, and then announcing new hardware later this year to accompany the release. Maximum hype, maximum bucks.

They're not going to reveal next gen games without the system, that would be deceptive marketing. At best they could reveal a game is coming to Switch and announce it'll be cross gen later on like they did with BotW, but no game exclusive to the next gen console is going to be announced before the console itself is.
If the 2D Mario rumor is true (especially if its not just another NSMB borefest), then I'd bet money either a new 3D Mario or Mario Kart is a launch title for the new system. Especially after the Wii U, Nintendo's not gonna self-sabotage again by showing you how you don't have to buy a new system for a new game in a series. (barring a major cross gen launch game, which so far ironically has had the opposite effect)
My main prediction is...its time for Prime 4. Normally I wouldn't bother to predict this, because its been so long. But its so very suspicious to me that they finally announced Metroid Prime remaster and then immediately shadow dropped it. The most logical reason to do this would be if you have another Metroid Prime game to show off soon, because why immediately release the remaster if you have nothing to show with Prime 4 for the foreseeable future. I think Prime 4 is basically the Switch's FFVII remake, in that its the long delayed, restarted game that SURPRISE will actually make the current gen.
Nope, everyone's collectively decided that there's for sure going to be a Zelda direct before May but nothing else until September. No new information has been revealed, of course (we've known about E3 for a while now), but the talking points are out.
Looks like the conventional wisdom and insiders were wrong (again). They hedged on the lack of direct a couple days ago of course.
I love the reaction toward a potential Mario and sonic Paris 2024. I got the 2020 game, was fun for about a month tops. No wonder that game constantly goes on sale, interest dies before the pandemic.
@Owl1 I recall someone on this site mentioning there's a rumour in which Mario & Sonic becomes just Sonic for 2024 Paris Olympics so that it could be multiplatform. I think it's rather believable as SEGA has made a massive push into multiplatform games recently. Persona's no longer PS exclusive, Yakuza/Like a Dragon came to Xbox in 2020 and since then it's been for everything but Switch, SMT is likely no longer Nintendo exclusive, etc.
@Grumblevolcano This is quite likely the case. Mario and company were cut out of the mobile version and it was turned into Sonic at the olympics 2020. Strangely, the arcade version still had Mario characters.
@TheBigBlue Maybe they'll break tradition with all the Olympic games being just Sonic... Or they could also do special not Mario versions for other platforms? Who knows... those games lost my interest years ago at this point.
Well this is certainly an interesting turn of events.
Either Ninty have jumped the gun and this trailer is meant for tomorrow's Direct (unlikely given the lack of Direct branding on the thumbnail) or 1-2 Switch isn't making an appearance tomorrow, which blows open an entire can of worms on what could potentially fill it's spot if so.
Or they could just show it anyway, that's also pretty likely XD
