Topic: Next Nintendo Direct?

@Giancarlothomaz but there very well could be one. Obviously it's not traditional, but it's nintendo we're talking about...

The last November Direct that wasn't game specific was in 2015 where the lineup through April 2016 was detailed. It was mostly more info on already known games but there were 2 surprise game announcements, Twilight Princess HD for Wii U and Pokemon Gen 1 (Red/Blue/Yellow) for 3DS VC.

The eShop maintenence will happen, followed by no Nintendo Direct whatsoever 😐

Just be patient for February.

Looking at how Nintendo's approached general Directs since their return in 2021 (except E3 2021 but E3 Direct timing is dictated by E3), I think Kirby makes it seem like a Direct both before and after February seems most likely.

• February 2021 - 3D World released on February 12th, Direct happened February 21st
• September 2021 - WarioWare released on September 10th, Direct happened September 23rd
• February 2022 - Legends Arceus released on January 28th, Direct happened February 9th
• September 2022 - Splatoon 3 released on September 9th, Direct happened September 13th

They're timing general Directs around 1-2 weeks after releases so with all the vague holiday release timings it feels like around 1-2 weeks after Bayonetta 3 launches (November 2nd/3rd/9th/10th) and then another one 1-2 weeks after Kirby launches (March 1st/2nd/8th/9th) seems most likely.

October has broken me. I don't need another Direct this year lol.

The September Directs always occur at around Tokyo Game Show.

I don’t think this maintenance is going to mean anything like a Direct. In all likelihood the next Direct from Nintendo won’t be until either February or March next year.

No Direct this week. It did come to mind that Nintendo's financial results are the day after the maintenance.

But yeah, I still think there's a decent chance of Direct next week.

Clearly I have been out of the loop, what the hell has happened in the last few days for everyone to be assuming a Direct?

Why do people think we're getting another direct? We generally get the year's last direct in September, and then nothing until February.

If no direct this week, then next week?!?

why everyone is expecting Nintendo to do another Nintendo Direct this year, they already did all the Nintendo Direct for 2022(in february, the huge third party one and the tradicional septembre Nintendo Direct) if Nintendo give us more information about it games it will be show at TGA 2022, or in a trailer/tweet.

@VoidofLight That's what I've been saying! It feels like we've got the entire next half year (2022-Spring 2023) completely covered so I'm struggling to see what the point of a potential November Direct could be. Is the length and quantity of the maintenance suspicious? Absolutely (especially when they happen to coincide with the Pokemon Splatfest). But saying that it's going to be a Direct feels like one hell of a stretch (the last one still feels so new to me).

Though if they announce Ghost Trick for Switch then I ain't gonna complain.

@Fizza this maintanace could be Nintendo preparing the release of the next DLC of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

My thinking is that the maintenance is probably just that. They probably found some sort of exploit or issue with the eshop and fixed it before anyone noticed, which took them a while to do.
