I am surprised they did not announce anything about the online service and Snes games. Plus, in the lastest nes online update, the Snes games have been removed from the code of the app.
@DannyBoi They can easily just put out a press statement regarding the future plans for the Online Service. As for SNES games, they will come but probably not something they are planning to start just yet. I think the Tetris 99 game was the big Online game Nintendo are pushing right now.

@DannyBoi I think Tetris 99 maybe a glimpse at what Nintendo may have in store to keep people signed up. An online exclusive games for members every few months isn't a bad idea, assuming the game is any good.

@Octoguy I have to say I wholeheartedly agree with you on the direct, I was so hoping for some Metroid news but was very disappointed. I was like you & was impressed with mario maker 2 & Zelda but a lot of the anime rpg/strategy stuff leaves me a bit cold & not really my cup of tea tbh. Plenty to be getting on with but really thought with delaying prime4 they would have given us some Metroid news. Maybe at E3???

Medievil remake got a gameplay trailer in October 31st 2018. That game will probably not come out until Q4 2019. Thought it does have it's disadvantages to show a game so early (taking time away from the developers to prepare a demo, and also showing a product that might not be like the final product) it's not unreasonable to want a gameplay trailer in February.
For a second I was scared Nintendo were taking Fire Emblem Fates' idea further and were gonna have 3 separate games in order to play through the 3 kingdoms. Thankfully that doesn't seem to be the case
I think this was an excellent direct, and this is coming from someone whose favorite franchises are Metroid, Donkey Kong, Zelda (mostly 3D games, with the 2D ones slowly growing on me).

Oh yeah! Woohooo! It starts off with a game I want so hard! The best Mario game for me personally. Super Mario Maker. And they start with the thing everyone asked for: Slopes! Steep and not so steep ones. It is SUPER MARIO MAKER 2! Yeaaah! Then a new enemy: Tornado guys from SMB3! YES, a new desert stage!! And the Sun enemy from SMB3! Also moving platforms that can be stretched longer than before! A new ice stage! The moving block snake from the SMW castles!! Water in ground levels!! A new forest stage!! ON/OFF Block Switches! Custom autoscrolling in all directions!!! A 10-Coin! Ant Trooper enemy and Big Spike Fish enemy! Custom moving Pink Piranha Plant!!! Sideways moving Thwomps!! At least 4 more new enemies from... what?!! Super Mario 3D World?!! Yes!!! A new theme has been added: Super Mario 3D World!!! Bell trees you can hide items into!! Cat Mario!! Glass pipes!! Weird blocks that spit out other blocks! A new coin counter?! Giant Banzai Bill enemies coming from the background!! Fences to climb on!! Platforms that swing to the sides! Red Pipes?! Parachute enemies!! Vertical Levels!!! A new space stage!!! Puple Blocks! Boom Boom!! LUIGIIIII!!!!! WOOOOW, what a minute trailer. This was the best game on Wii U (next to Xenoblade X). And the trailer showed everything we could have hoped for and more, and they haven't shown everything! There's still so much to analyze. I'm so excited. Juneeee my birthday here we go!!! A perfect start! I'm excited for the next 33 minutes. New Nintendo president, show us the goods!
Hmm.. MARVEL Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order (Summer 2019) Oh, the prequels were 2 of the best Marvel games on Wii. I'm surprised Nintendo is publishing this one, supporting Marvel.
BOXBOY! + BOXGIRL! (2019.04.26) I have played the demo on 3DS. Nice puzzler, but didn't hook me. Dunno if I buy it on Switch. Imagine it will be amazing for 2 players, just like Snipperclips.
Oh, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate! Oh not much news, Joker in 3D, new Smash amiibo, and a big Question Mark on Version 3.0.0. Yeah ok, cool.
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker new free 2player co-op update and 18 new challeges + 5 new levels as DLC. Sounds neat, but I have this game on Wii U.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Looks nice. Was never big on Castlevania games though, but this one seems fine.
Dragon Quest Builders 2 (2019.07.12), also published by Nintendo. With online multiplayer this time and lots of other stuff fans wanted. Cool.
Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition (Switch exclusive, Autumn 2019) The game looks very promising and super epic, and it's graphically one of the standout RPGs! One of the biggest announcements in this Direct for sure. I only have Dragon Quest Swords on Wii and know most of the characters from Fortune/Boom Street / Straßen des Glücks (Wii). But this one could reel me into the numbered ones finally. I think the long-haired hero (what's his name?) would be the best DQ rep in Smash. He's kinda iconic. Seen him lots, and always call him DQ guy.

Starlink: Battle for Atlas - Additional Content Update in April! Peppy, Falco, and Slippy are playable and they all have their own skill tree. Andrew Oikonny, Pigma Dengar, Leon Powalski are also back. And racing stages! So that's where the Star Fox Grand Prix rumours come from!
Hey what's this? I know this game! It looks different, weird farming. Raise monsters?? This is RUNE FACTORY!!! Yes. Rune Factory 4 Special, out later this year. It's not forgotten! And brandnew Rune Factory 5 is also coming to Switch!!! Yeah, drown me in great games, why not?
Then the third Switch game from Tokyo RPG Factory (I am Setsuna, Lost Sphear) is shown: Oninaki. Looks neat. The story is interesting and the quality seems solid, though graphics-wise I'm afraid it'll be hanging in the shadows of things like Fire Emblem, Dragon Quest, and Final Fantasy, just like so many good NIS America and KEMCO JRPGs.
Yoshi's Crafted World New amazing footage, and the first stage as a demo to download shortly after the presentation. (I completed the demo, the game is great and looks pretty!) Coming 29th March, oooh so sooon!!!
Now is time for Fire Emblem: Three Houses. They take my favourite theme (mercenaries standing between three powerful kingdoms) but add a school system around it. It sounds very interesting. A very fresh mechanic that may be strangely addicting. Coming 26th July. I hope for the best!
99 players? 1 winner? TETRIS 99!!! I played it a couple hours and reached 3rd place. This game is soooooo goooood!!! So tense again! You think developers did everything they could with Tetris? You think nothing new fun and interesting can be done with the formula? Along comes Nintendo, takes on TETRIS once again, elevates the game beyond imagination, and drops it on the eShop out of nowhere, for free! 10/10
Dead by Daylight Yeah! Another game out of nowhere. I saw videos of this online multiplayer slasher on Youtube. The people playing had a very good time. I think they could have updated the graphics a bit, but as long as the online is good it should be great fun.

What the... look at these characters, the monsters, how the chains connect around their limbs, the police motorbikes, the smokey city, I love this game!! Oh yeah, give it to me! I want this so much!!!! Wait? What? Hideki Kamiya?? That's not Monolith! That's Platinum!!! Director from NieR:Automata??? Huh?? This is not Xenoblade X2! Is this that NieR game people talk about?? WHAT?? ASTRAL CHAIN??? 30.08.2019. Wow. Didn't expect that. A new Nintendo IP in collab with Platinum Games that looks like my most wanted JRPG this year! On Platinum's front Bayonetta 3 development is also on course but nothing new to show. I wonder how that studio manages to juggle two games of this extreme caliber!
Waves?? Stormy ocean.. What? Is that the new Pokémon trailer? No, wait, this is Link! THIS IS LINK! THIS IS THE NEW ZELDA!!!! NEW ZELDAAAAA!!!! The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. Oh baby! Woooaaah! These graphics and animations. How beautiful and cute everything is. I can't wait to revist it once more. Great great art style!! When I heard rumours of a 2D Zelda I thought BOTW prototype, so this came totally unexpected. Oh yeah, total satisfaction. Great direct! So many fantastic games. And they haven't even shown half of the brandnew Triple AAA titles coming this year.
I never thought Grand Prix was real. It’s a dumb concept. As much as people love to hate on Zero over the years, they think Nintendo is really gonna make a game even further removed from the core Star Fox idea? That would be like getting Metroid Beachball after Other M, instead of the Samus Returns remake.
And that guy isn’t even saying whether he thinks it’s real, just doing a bunch of cya double talk. This is why getting too excited about rumors is silly.

@Grumblevolcano That doesn't make it real. It's not called Star Fox Grand Prix. It's not developed by Retro. It technically isn't even a Star Fox game, it's Starlink. It's not even a new game, it's DLC. And it isn't even a racing thing like the name suggests, it's just extra Star Fox content with the rabbit, bird and frog.
