Any chance the game gets DLC in the future?

Interesting video. I watched the whole thing.

He admittedly doesn't collect every data point that he could, but yea... the numbers that he did collect don't lie. At this point, there's really nothing that actually proves this until we can see the game code.

@Bigmanfan Honestly, there's a lot of tracks I like in the game. A few of my favorites are Crown City, Whistlestop Summit, and even Boo Cinema... that is a really cool track. I love the haunting atmosphere and how you'd go into the movie screen. That filmstrip part is just cool to see!

From what I heard, she does a good job. It's not 1-1 with Sam Kelly or Jen Taylor's takes(Lin is slightly lower in terms of the pitch), but the specifics of the voice and underlying personality of the character are still present - enough for me to not mind the differences.

Wonder who's voicing Toad and Toadette, though.

Havent finished DKB yet, but if Nintendoes the obvious and adds DLC for DK and Pauline, can we also get the Void Co. crew at the least? I am on SL7, so who knows, maybe more characters, too! I want a banana kart, too, while I'm at it!

@MrCarlos46, I am absolutely positive that this game will get some form of dlc down the line. I don't think that it will be 5 years later like the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster-Course Pass (that was a completely random thing that absolutely nobody expected), but again, I am positive it's coming at some point down the line.

Do I remember that NL had a staff article where they posted screenshots from MKW, and one of them was their kart racer in space? I can't find the article now. Is there a challenge that launches you into space? Or maybe I misunderstood what the screenshot showed. The moment I saw it, I thought it was a spoiler, so closed the article and didn't investigate further.😁

Cuz they’d probably be able to map more maps or islands. I also did bring up something about non-Mario characters last month, so maybe they have a shot for DLC. I think it comes because I wanna see characters like Pearl and Marina as well as Samus be added.

Maybe for non-Mario maps they could add some sort of story mode leading up to a mission that ends up unlocking some of those characters.

I found the Kart Dash mode interesting, gives something more to do while in Free Roam, especially adding something to the mix having to chase any enemies that steal the orders.

I also wanna see them add Talking Flower commentary to the game…

@ShieldHero If guest characters aren’t in the base game, maybe they can be added in DLC, and the emphasis on “world” also suggests it could get bigger later on, where we could see new continents and maps be added, especially if it includes maps and characters from Nintendo franchises…

I was thinking of the same guest characters back in Mario Kart 8 but also new ones like Samus, Fox, Wolf, Kirby, King Dedede, Pearl, Marina, etc

@MrCarlos46 didnt the developers already confirm there wasnt gonna be other franchise characters? maybe more mario continents, dk characters, wonder characters (i would kill for talking flwoer), and koopalings tho!!!

Is it part of rainbow road? I did unlock that 3+ weeks ago. If it's not that, then thanks for avoiding spoilers. I've mostly avoided exploration and p switches so far because, I've been saving that for beach vacation with my nieces. We play in the mornings or at night or if it rains.

Forgot to mention, if they change their mind of course (unlikely), are we ever gonna see a Mario Kart 8 situation again where guest characters get added later on as DLC or are all entries moving forward stating with World are back to being Mario-only?

@MrCarlos46 i genuinely think its gonna be mario-only, like the developers confirmed earlier this summer sadly. also 8’s style is a lot more realistic making it easier to add other franchises but World’s is so cartoony and charming and i would argue very mu ch built for mario-only characters. and yess prince florian would be awesome idk if brothership has enough acclaim to get characters in world. maybe paper mario tho! i would die to play madam flurrie

I was so positive Prince Florian and the Poplins would be playable! Still surpised they aren't, honestly. However! There is yet hope! We are all assuming that we will get DLC for a Bananza tiein.... So why not a Wonder-themed DLC following the (also very likely) Switch 2 Edition of said title? It makes too much sense!

Depending on how they do it in future games we’ll probably see if Nintendo is permanently doing Mario-only for Mario Kart games again starting with World or they’ll add other characters in some future entry.

Now that you bring it up, I do wanna see a Switch 2 Edition for Super Mario Bros. Wonder. I haven’t replayed the game much since 100%ing it before 2023 ended, so hopefully such Switch 2 Edition adds some new campaign to play.

I don’t mind it staying Mario-only; there’s still sooooo much they can do.
