There really would be riots in the street if they did that lol.
I'm not as mad as I think the majority of people are, but it is frustrating and I hope Nintendo doesn't sweep this particular controversy under the rug as unlike like the price of games or the game-key cards...this is a really easy thing to fix (if they're willing).
@Nintoz
Yea, to me it’s frustrating and dumb, but I wouldn’t say I’m like honestly mad about it. But I’m the type of player who hops in to play a few online matches and then hops out. It’s whatever, but I do hope they at least offer us an option in the near future.
They haven’t done a significant update to the game yet in terms of balancing and stuff, so maybe when that rolls around we will see something. I’m sure they have their eye on the stats flowing to them around online matches.
@Nintoz Thanks.😁 I just deleted my post asking and just downloaded the update. Yeah, VS still has 3 lap races. The person I saw asking the question was just confused.
Alright, I finished 62 P-Switches so far and I played World for 20 hours or more. It still feels like a fresh game to me. I like the vibrations, which the joy-cons make when you pass a chain chomp.
@Dev-N Who did you play as to beat the ghosts? I have all 3*** rankings now for 150/Mirror (Grand Prix and also Knockout mode... the latter was horendous!!)
Feel next logical step is to beat the Time Trial ghosts, as I just cannot face the open world collect-a-thon... at least not yet
@Dev-N
I have a handful of Time Trials left, and Acorn Heights is just killing me. I've seen the routes a million times, I just hate these vines soooo much.
77 P-Switches. Slow and steady. I doubt that I can finish them all until Bananza releases, with only one hour of gaming time per day, but let us see how far I can come.
Idk why, but intermissions are growing on me. There are actually quite a few of them that are pretty fun to play. I did one where you were on a curvy ice path, and it was kinda cool (dont remember which circuit it lead to).
Yesterday evening we went online with a few mates and found ourselves confused with what is possible and what is not. In our case, we connected from three countries with 4 players (1x multiplayer on one switch 2 and 2x single-player on their own switch 2).
1. We were not able to play online Knockout tour against other human players
2. We were not able to play Balloon Battle mode specifically against other human players online. Instead, it was some sort of randomizer experience, in which only after course selection it became clear whether we were forced to play a coin run or a balloon battle.
If we created our own room/game and accepted to play with CPUs, then of course we were able to play whatever we wanted specifically.
Did we do something wrong, or is this really how the online multiplayer is set up for Mario Kart World? Or maybe it's because we were limited because two players were locally playing split-screen and that is why we were limited in these options?
Also, I remember from the Directs that Nintendo was marketizing online-multiplayer free roam. In which they were seemingly "hanging out" in the world together without a time-limit. We seemed to only enjoy sporadic moments of free roam while waiting for the next race/battle to load.
@Bankaj
Yea, some other shortcomings of the system at the moment seem to be that groups of people can only compete with eachother, so if you can't fill all 24 slots, you either have to use CPUs or just leave them empty. You can't take, like, 9 people and hop into general online together. Which is a total bummer, for sure.
I've heard some other people are also confused about the ability to get a group together and just roam the open world. I haven't tried it, so maybe someone else here has found a way to do it if possible.
106 pressed P-Switches. The only real challenges so far were the rail and wall grinding challenges. Oh and finding the places from the Youtube videos without the help of an in-game map. A kind of relaxing activity, like collecting korok seeds. Even so, I do not think it is worth 90€.
@rallydefault
If the open world was more interesting and had real missions with a story maybe. Interesting unlockables and generally a real progress system, because right now it really is just a collect-all-korok-seeds-open-world.
But the open world is really beautiful at times, I like that.
Bummer indeed. We still manage to have a lot of fun with the game, so it's not a deal-breaker. However, it's one of those things that seem just obvious to do, which Nintendo often chooses to not go for. Reasoning is beyond me, but we'll have to live with it I guess.
