With update 1.1.2, Nintendo has made it clear they don't want people having fun online with Mario Kart World. And in today's world of post-release updates, not only can unfinished games be released and fixed post-launch, but perfectly good games can be ruined after release! So let's try to predict how Nintendo can ruin the rest of their Switch 2 games!
Donkey Kong Bananza: Removed DK's ability to smash through terrain and dig into the ground. Too much freedom invalidates our careful level design.
Metroid Prime 4: On launching, game will display a blank screen with the Metroid Prime 4 logo only. Will release a second update to make the game playable after another eight years.
Pokemon Legends: Z - A: Following the update, the only available starter Pokemon is Dunsparce. All Pokemon encountered in the wild are Dunsparce. Save data created prior to this update is now corrupted (if this hasn't already occurred naturally).
Ocarina of Time Master Edition HD: This game doesn't yet exist, but we're releasing a special update for your Switch 2 to ensure it never will.
@Magician This is a joke topic meant to relieve some of the frustration at how Nintendo ruined MKW's online mode. Feel free to add your own predictions.
HARDWARE
Nintendo will release upgraded version of Switch 2 with more polished product, but with a catch...
The machine is designed will self destruct (really really KABOOM, EXPLODED) if you try to mod the machine with pirated stuffs and Nintendo will not taking any responsibility if you got injured or die from the explosion.
You try to pirate Switch 2 games, Nintendo will KILL you directly.
(Just for sarcasm)
SOFTWARE
Nintendo suddenly re-release ALL their 1st party games in game key card and slap with $100 for Standard version, $200 for ULTRA DELUXE Edition, Must be Online connected to play OFFLINE games, cannot play the USED games, nearly like first idea of XBOX ONE.
Is this greedy enough?
(Sarcasm mode on)
No Nintendo biggies Mario/Zelda etc til' at least another 3/4 years into the lifecycle of Switch 2.. and I don't think that's so unbelievable is it, and we'd probably have a new console by then.
They bring out a updated version of Pilotwings 64 with amazing graphics, orchestral score and fantastic controls but its 64 dollars and you can only play it 64 times before you have to buy it again.
animal crossing will just be tom nook asking for bells, itll be called “Animal Crossing: New Debt”
man i wish i was funny 😔 @Dr_Corndog stop the prime 4 one actually made me laugh out loud @Anti-Matter im gonna find myself quoting “sarcasm mode on” omg
BRING NINJI INTO MARIO KART WORLD RIGHT NOW.
five favorite games of all time:
1. minecraft
2. splatoon 3
3. earthbound
4. xenoblade chronicles 3
5. zelda tears of the kingdom
Mario Kart World is the next 3D Mario, with a $80 DLC expansion you'll be able to get out of your vehicle and explore the world as if it was an open world 3D Mario game.
Hot take, Nintendo ruins a game by NOT releasing any patches post release. For all the whine about Switch 2 editions and post release updates. Patches that change modes and so on. I'd gladly take that over the game being just outright abandoned post launch or the improvements being tired to a whole new release
Tomadachi life 2 will not receive a switch 2 edition, with the original version having weirdly terrible performance. The game’s ’dream’ mechanic will replace most of the interesting interactions from the first game and most fans will agree the 3DS one was better.

@BonzoBanana
That limited use thing reminds me of the silly user limit on demos for wiiu (i think wiiu had it, know 3ds did) and 3ds, i know yeah its a demo so if you like it you could buy the fullgame however in many cases demos come out before a game is released (and it can be fun to play a bunch to get hyped) while other demos let you carry over data to the full game. Definitely glad that nonsense is gone.
Aonuma (who I love, don’t take this the wrong way), still in the honeymoon phase with BOTW/TOTK/EOWs open-ended world and puzzle design is put over the next 2D Metroid. “When I revisited the old Metroid games, I encountered certain areas that were inaccessible until I obtained another ability. I was very disappointed by this, but it was understandable given the limitations of the time. We understand now that players prefer to have freedom when they play, so Samus will have her entire arsenal available from the start, rather than gaining new abilities over the course of her adventure.”
