I'm not that far in, but I'm going through the FE games before the new one, almost finished sacred stones rn, but the opening cutscene on the menu is really good
Made it to Chapter 12. My team is growing, and I've started to settle on which characters to use. Rolf is starting to build a bit of strength and defense. Oscar is now doubling enemies and Boyd is an absolute tank. Lethe stat growths are insane. She basically turns into Titania 2.0 when in Laguz form. Soren is killing it. Titania is even more awesome than she normally would be- I've gotten unreal stat growths on her. Very lucky level ups. 43 HP, 23 DEF, 21 RES, 19 SPD... it's unbelievable. And she's not even Level 20 yet!
Been GameChatting with Kaz at night since we're both playing the game. I'll watch him play on expanded screen for a while then vise versa. Also helped me learn some tactics and tricks for BXP.
Which btw, I adore the Bonus XP mechanic.

@JaxonH You can either sell the Statue Frag for early game forges or use it on Marcia/Lethe to Shove/Rescue other units since their Build stat is from what I remember pretty low.
I think PoR is a game where you should either promote early for Healers or units like Zihark/Mia if they maxed out their Skill/Speed stat or units that have trouble keeping up and you want to use anyway. Otherwise I'd sell it since in PoR you can promote by leveling up to 21 (20+99xp). Forging weapons is also pretty important so keep that in mind and you never really run out of money anyway since you get war funds every few maps.
I have to agree, BXP is amazing. Wish more games apart from Tellius had this mechanic.
Also remember: Mist has a few maps where she is forced to deploy so I'd recommend leveling her up and promoting or even using her permanently.
Forgot I have every paperback official guide released for Fire Emblem games in the west, including Path of Radiance.
Promoted Rhys who maxed magic at Level 18. Sold the Arms Scrolls, Blue Gem and Statue Frag thing. Keeping forging one new Iron Weapon+ each chapter with maxed Might (Mt) and min Weight (Wt).
Promoted Boyd with a master seal as well, gave him use of Bow.
Mainly rolling with Ike, Titania, Boyd, Oscar, Soren, Rhys, Mist, Rolf, Mia, Marcia, Lethe, Volke and Brom. Those are my top 13 for now.
Currently on Chapter 13 (that's not where the guide is opened to, just wanted to show off the strategy and artwork of a recent chapter).
Anyone who wants my Nintendo Power guide digitally, you can view it at the link below, and if you select the 3 dots in the upper left, you can choose to download it as a PDF file to your phone/PC.
Haven’t had time to play the last few days but I’m hoping to get back in tomorrow. I’ve been playing and trying to finish vice city to put it in the rear view mirror. Also trying to clear out some games so I can focus on this and FF7
And I’m finished with vice city and started ch 5 last night, but paused it. I intend on really focusing on this game for the next couple weeks without getting sidetracked.
Played for about an hour so just starting Chapter 5. Strange experience for me as I think this is the first time I am seriously playing a Fire Emblem game that is pre-Awakening. I like the art-style. Characters aren't gripping me yet, but I'll give it more time. That said, Soren appears to be an *******.
Playing on Normal, as my general experience of Fire Emblem so far I hate to say, has been with no Permadeath (Edit: Except for very first playthrough of Awakening, where I was left with just Flavia, Chrom and Robin). Not lost anyone yet, but I discovered that Japan's easy mode is Normal, so not feeling too proud of myself. I could restart and bump the difficulty up, but I don't really want to replay already.
@JaxonH If nothing else, I appreciate the full print Titania character art. Not quite in need of the strategy yet, but I appreciate all the same. Thank you.
@JaxonH awesome stuff thanks. I ended up having gatrie and Titania split up with gatrie taking everything on the side and Titania taking the rest head on with everyone supporting them. Ch 7 now already!
Man chapter 8 was an endurance test. Read a bit of the guide and some opinions online. Definitely the hardest battle thus far. Really threw a wrench in my strategy losing gatrie and shinon . Finally persevered after multiple restarts though.
I’ve been pretty hooked on playing this since it came out and just made it to chapter 21 last night.
Also chapter 15 is a desert map which has a history of having hidden items.
For those who want to know where they all are, here’s a map of all the locations.
Also I recommend bringing Lethe or Mordecai to the chapter as they can be handy moving on the sand and have a particular use in the top right.
More specifically on where, go to the spot where you can get the Vague Katti with one of them.
@NintendoByNature
Glad someone else is getting use from that guide. Having it physically feels more special but, honestly just keeping the PDF pulled up is more convenient.
Are you using save states? Or restarting the entire map each time?
@yokokazuo
Thank you. Though the guide also shows those locations, your picture is much more clear and easy to interpret. Saving it since I'm on Chapter 14, only 1 chapter away from that map.

@yokokazuo Just did that map. I prefer to go in blind but now I get to see what I missed. I stumbled upon Stefan but it was with Marcia. I was quite surprised. I knew he was a character that can join you thanks to Cipher but I guess I missed that chance.
My friend had a deck in Cipher that included Stefan and he was very annoying to deal with. I remember asking him if he was a major character in the game and he said not at all but I didn't think he'd be this inconsequential. I also just remembered that his cards do feature the desert. There are no hints at his connection with the Laguz though, unlike Zihark who gets attack bonuses from Laguz.
@JaxonH no problem! Yeah I took a look at the guide, but thought it might be nice to post a map here (and spoilers for those that want to experience it blind first).
@LateAh, too bad about missing Stefan, but if you do a future playthrough the hopefully you can get him. It is pretty easy to miss out on him normally, I’d say the only hint would maybe be that you’re fighting a bunch of Laguz. And maybe that it’s a unique weapon perhaps. He’s a very powerful unit though and I believe in one info conversation helps Ike improve on his blade work. Some interesting info can be learned through supports though. And in Radiant Dawn there is more info learned about him too.
Also do you play FE Cipher? I have several of the cards, but still haven’t really learned how to play it yet. Perhaps someday I’ll try to give it a try though. I’ve been in the Cipher Discord group for a while and just need to actually look into the details on playing.
@yokokazuo I do! This is the first time I hear that someone else here has cards. I have a full N-SR collection as I mentioned on previous page. I'm in the Discord group as well, mainly lurking. I've only ever played with my friends, both in person and online via Lackey.
I like making my own decks. They're gimmicky and far from good but I like experimenting on my own instead of using top tier tournament decks.
