Topic: Final Fantasy VII Remake Integrade - FINAL BOSS HELP *SPOILERS* GAME SOFT LOCKED

ARG.

Ok this is my first time playing FFVII -REMAKE. I have really enjoyed it.

Last night I was at the final boss - you know who. The whole battle is an hour - and I pretty much had him beat. Like his bar was 0.

The game suddenly decided to SOFTLOCK on me. I've never had this experience with any game before - freezing yes, (NES/SNES days) but instead of a cut scene everyone pretty much froze in place. I could move the camera - the characters were in their standing animation, music was playing full blast, background stage animations going full tilt but no button responses except for + (Pause) which could then use camera mode to take pictures but that's it.

I was locked out. No option to restart battle from auto save point or whatever. Done.

I looked it up and apparently this has happened to quite a few players on various stages of the final battle. I couldn't get a full answer or hints on how to avoid it. But now I have to redo that whole event again... when I feel up to it.

Any advice/pity/ would be nice....

Can we report this to Square? THE GAME IS OVER 5 YEARS OLD.

You definitely should report it to Square, and it definitely should be fixed. However, keep in mind that "the game is over 5 years old" is only technically true. A new port means new code, and thus new potential for bugs. Sure, Nintendo has gone out of their way to make porting to the Switch 2 as easy as possible, but its still a major architecture change versus PC or PS5.

I didn’t face any bugs playing the game at all. A soft lock at this point sounds awful, sorry to hear it! Definitely report to Square Enix!

I agree with the code differences however when I googled my issues I found out that this problem has existed (at the boss fight) for other systems - like Play Station. So this problem is 5 years old.

I will try to navigate through squares website and report it.
