My favorite game this year is probably Sonic Racing Crossworlds, given I’ve been playing it more than any other(aside from Final Fantasy Tactics but that’s a remaster rather than a new game)

Worst game? I don’t go out of my way to buy games I know I’ll hate or are bad. I dunno, Switch 2 Welcome Tour I guess?

I realise so far I've not bought any games I think released in 2025. I tend to buy later when discounted. I was going to buy Metroid Prime 4 for original Switch but the reviews and pricing put me off. However I don't think that can be considered a bad game merely a good game rather than a great game. Same with Mario Kart World another good not great game that also has very high pricing. I bought about 20 games this year but the latest was likely released in 2024 and some much earlier than that. I actually feel like its been a very disappointing year overall for games. As someone who loves single player first person experiences with proper scripted stories I was relying on Metroid Prime to supply a fresh story to work through. For me its been more of a hardware year in that I got a Steam Deck and have been playing PC games on a PC gaming handheld for the first time with decent performance. My last PC gaming handheld was an intel Atom tablet with gaming controls that the tablet fitted into and that was quite a few years ago, it could just about play Skyrim on incredibly low settings which ruined the experience somewhat. Of course the Switch came in as my main portable gaming handheld after that.

When I actually get around to buying it in 2026 I think 'Routine' could be my game of 2025.

Best
1. Summer Pockets: Reflection Blue
2. Monster Train 2
3. The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy-
4. Octopath Traveler 0
5. Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter
6. Ender Magnolia
7. Kirby Air Riders
8. Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time
9. Donkey Kong Bananza
10. The Slormancer

Honorable mentions: Blue Prince, Necesse, BALL x PIT, The King is Watching, Hello Kitty Island Adventure

There's probably a handful of others that could be contenders to make my list but I just haven't gotten around to them yet.

Worst
1. Mario Kart World
2. Monster Hunter Wilds
3. Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land

Those are the only three that I dislike enough to put on the list so I won't try to make it a bottom ten. Atelier Yumia just doesn't really feel like an Atelier game so it was a bit disappointing and I think the other two are complete trash tier.

In no particular order, the great games to come out this year that I'd nominate:
-Hades 2
-Hollow Knight Silksong
-Trails in the Sky Remake
-Clair Obscur

( There are other games I played that I wouldn't nominate, because they came out earlier or because they don't quite hit the same level of greatness. Or games I wouldn't nominate because I just haven't played them yet. )

I enjoy exploring my favorite games because they bring joy and challenge into my life. Whether I’m solving puzzles or competing in strategy battles, the excitement never fades. One interesting place to learn about options is https://magyarkaszinooldalak.com/casino-minimum-befizetes/350...
where various gaming experiences are discussed and compared. Social games with friends often make ordinary days special, and immersive adventures let me forget stress. I appreciate how different games spark creativity and bring people together, making every session memorable and full of fun and learning while inspiring me to improve skills every day.

agree with you

OP worst list seems a bit troll like, I apologize if it isn't but KCD2 was one of the best games of the year. Ghost of Yotei was excellent too, South of Midnight is a good game, Outer Worlds 2 was good too.
