I noticed this in Trails in the Sky and AZ. Weird ghosting issues when turning the camera (like textures in the wall or wall edges ghosting when even slightly turning the camera). Thought this was an optimization issue but I played Binding of Isaac last night and noticed that the sprites moving on screen had the same ghosting, halo effect. My Series X doesn't do this hooked up to the same tv. I've also used my Series X HDMI cord with my Switch 2 and tested the other HDMI port capable of 120 fps.
Does this tv have higher than 60fps? Can you limit the tv to 60? I recall seeing someone on reddit with a ghosting issue they couldn't explain with Pokemon ZA, and I think capping their tv's fps to 60 was their solution. Forgive me if I'm wrong.
@WoomyNNYes my TV does 120, but the way the Switch 2 communicates with it, it auto sets to a 4k 60, and if it a game runs at 120 fps my TV auto sets to a 1440 p source. I always have the 120 turned off on my Switch 2 tho unless a game like Silksong can use it, then I turn it on
@WoomyNNYes took your advice. I have 4 HDMI ports on my TV. 2 of my ports do 4k 60 fps and 2 of them do 4k 120 fps. When I plug my Switch 2 into the 4k 60fps channel the ghosting completely goes away. This kind of sucks lol. Like I said my Series X has zero issue being hooked up to one of those 2 4k 120 ports
@StarLord87 I have a game mode on my TV. And for example if I try HDR (my TV says it does HDR but it doesn't work right) it'll auto change the TV into HDR game mode. As far as 1440 p goes, I cannot set my Switch to output at 1440 p, that option is grayed out. But if I boot up a game that is running 120 or a 40 fps mode my TV will auto change to 1440 p 120 and the Switch 2 will then show it is outputting at that. But like I said in a comment above, I have 4 HDMI ports on my TV, 2 only do 4k 60 and 2 do 4k 120. When I have my Switch 2 plugged into the 4k 60fps port it doesn't ghost. I run my Xbox in one of the 4k 120 ports and have zero issues.
