I'm surprised how many people around my area are playing this. I was sitting in town with a friend using the wifi and another group came and sat with us to catch pokemon too. Ran into quite a few other groups playing it too, which is really surprising to me.
@edhe Haha. I had a similar issue of running through what I thought were lengthy and rather obscure Usernames (all of which I quite liked) and then in a fit of random desperation tried out "ShortcakeSteve". Which worked. I don't particularly like shortcake, and my name is not - and never will be - Steve, but that matters not. I have now stupdily christened myself ShortcakeSteve and I'd better get bloody used to it.
Anyway, I downloaded this game about an hour ago and look it for a walk around town at 11p.m. on a Thursday night. I don't live in a particularly big town, but I bumped into quite a few groups of people staring at their screens and walking around, and struck up a few conversations. I had quite a nice moment where one chap pointed his phone at me and proclaimed, "hold on, there's a Zubat inside you!", to which I replied that nobody had every told me that before.
And then I had some of the seemingly inevitable issues with frozen Pokeballs, server connections, and juddery GPS signals.
The whole thing is completely dorky, but in a way that is bound to create a few smiles. I've been taken aback by the thoughtfulness of the Pokestops - they're often quite interesting, and I've learnt a few things, and noticed a few aspects of my town that I hadn't really picked up on before. It's sort of like a giant museum guide. Where the museum is Planet Earth.
So I am not currently able to sign into Pokemon Go or Pokemon Trainer Club account on their website and Pokemon Trading Card Game Online. Anyone else have this issue?
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

My sister downloaded the app but there'isn't the option to log in with a google account, only pokèmon trainer account.Since she's underage,Pokèmon trainer club wants the e-mail of a adult family member.I tried using mines multiple times( i have two e-mails) but the website always thinks that i left the e-mail field empty.
Unfortunately a glitch in the game where everything is always 3 steps away is making the experience nigh impossible right now, but hopefully it'll be fixed within a few days.
@Rexcalibr That's such a good gif. Like I didn't even know flamingos did such a thing?
I would have never guessed Weezing was so useful until I played a HeartGold Nuzlocke! My YouTube Channel! Video game related, of course! My Pushmo Levels

This is apparently a thing. There is apparently a foolproof way to make your eevee evolve the way you want. I haven't tested it yet but I'm willing to give it a go:

So I was riding in a truck with some of my family and deviced to try to catch some Pokemon on the drive by using an incense. For some reason every Pokemon I try to catch (no matter what kind or power) always escapes after the first ball wiggle and runs away immediately.
This is incredibly frustrating and I'm positive it has to be either some sort of glitch or something. Has anyone else had a similar problem?
I have. I've tried over twenty times, and the same pattern repeats itself. Even CP 10 Caterpies that I fed a berry to escape after the first wiggle and immediately run. It happened consistently each time, so I don't think it's something that's normally supposed to happen. Especially since I've never had this issue before.

I'm not sure about the PokeWalker itself. But in theory they could use a fairly simple pedometer to track steps for egg hatching. That feature doesn't really need the GPS or a constant connection online. And even if people did try to game it they still have to go to Pokestops to collect the eggs.
But for random encounters? I'm not sure it's such a great idea. And for gyms and Pokestops it flat out wouldn't work without significantly breaking the game.

@-Red- This is consistant with what people have been calling a “soft ban”, which occurs when the game detects fishy activity such as GPS spoofing. When “soft banned”, you can't interact with Pokéstops, and Pokémon will break out of their balls and run away, no matter their level. It is reported to wear off after some time (between 30 min and 5 hours, I've read).
