Topic: Nintendo Music App

I’m thinking Hyrule Warriors or Age of Calamity this week.

I could also see Majora’s Mask, especially if the game gets icons this month

My guess will be Majora's Mask! (Part of me wants to go for another left-field guess like Mario Party 8, but I won't push my luck again (though if it is a Mario Party game I might have a heart attack lol))

I'll agree with the Hyrule warrior people. That is a good guess.

This time I'll go for Echoes of Wisdom. It's been a year since that game came out, and I would think they would want to add a Switch game soundtrack next. I like the music for the seaside area, too. Kind of a random guess on my end, but it does seem like Nintendo likes picking random game soundtracks each week too, lol.

Also, I'm kind of late to the party, but here's my console-based wish list on what soundtracks I want to have...

SNES - Super Mario All-Stars
N64 - Paper Mario
GBA - Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
GameCube - Mario Party 6
DS - not sure, I guess Mario Kart DS
Wii - Kirby's Return to Dream Land
3DS - Super Mario 3D Land and Animal Crossing: New Leaf
Wii U - Super Mario 3D World
Switch - SM3DW + Bowser's Fury
Switch 2 - Mario Kart World

Yes, most of the soundtracks I want are Mario, lol.

I would love that soundtrack. There are a couple of super lovely tracks.

The weekly music is random except when it's not... they use anniversaries or new game releases as logical excuses like... maybe a third of the time. It's just super random the rest of the time 😝

@CaleBoi25 Honestly, I'd be happy if they add Mario Party 8's soundtrack, I like a lot of the music in that game. Especially the theme for Shy Guy's Perplex Express! 🚂

I'm going back to my Wario Land prediction of NSO shadow drop coinciding with Nintendo Music release. November's a very quiet month for Switch 1 (just the Pikmin 4 update and some 3rd party games) so I think we'll get 2 NSO waves (1 for base NSO, 1 for Expansion Pack) for Switch 1 supported systems this month.

@FishyS (Sorry I didn't see your post at first.) Ah yeah for sure, I actually like some of the music in that game too. And yeah, the guys who work on the app sure love being unpredictable with the soundtracks they pick. We even got a bunch of early NES game soundtracks one time, and I don't think anybody could've predicted that. Good old Nintendo huh?

i'd like to join the shenanigans after realizing i really do NOT like scrounging through the article comments and would rather spend my days talking about how much i want kirby super star on this godforaken app.

please nintendo music team. give me kirby and i'll give you my everything.

buuuut in all honesty my next real ost hope is 3d world. that feels like the last big ost a lot of people would really need from an app like this.
not that i care THAT much, i still use it constantly lol

Would love to get the Warriors soundtracks here, Eclipse of the Moon is secretly one of the best tracks in the Zelda series.
Not going to predict that as I'm not sure they are eligible given we haven't had any of the collab soundtracks yet.

For this week, I’m guessing majora’s mask or twilight princess. Since Hyrule warriors is about to release, and it was just Halloween, those are slightly spooky? Idk I’m grasping at straws here. Not sure if they will add games made by other companies, does monolithsoft count? No xenoblade so far.

Here's the thing, I was gonna go with one of the Animal Crossing games but after the New Horizons music update, I'm not too sure.

I think I'll go with either Majora's Mask or ARMS

The 26 NES games was actually an entirely reasonable and logical drop - the problem is, this is Nintendo, who is not known for either of those qualities, especially when it comes to this app. So the "reasonable and logical" suddenly becomes the "wild and unpredictable". 😆

Welcome! 3D World is definitely one of the more sore omissions at the moment, that would have been my guess this week if we hadn't gotten NSMB last week! I'll probably make it a default guess myself going forward.

What makes you think that collabs can't happen yet? Tetris already happened, and that's blatantly third-party, I think collabs are fine by comparison.

Why would the Horizons update change anything? They still have four games + Horizons DLC to get through, and nothing has been added to the app since launch. I think it's perfectly reasonable to expect more AC - on the contrary, I'd think that they'd want to take advantage of the app's new update!

@Robot99 I just thought if they were going to add another AC game tonight, they would've dropped the 'music by the hour' update with it instead of last week.
Would be more than happy to eat my words though!

I didn't think about the New Horizons DLC though, that's a good shout but I'll refrain cos I think that would've happened last week with the update.

@Robot99 Lol yeah for sure. Plus Nintendo has liked bringing back NES games in the past, even before the Wii Virtual Console was a thing. So I can see how that would be a reasonable move.

@Eek132 Nintendo owns Monolithsoft, so I could only assume they should be able to grab the Xenoblade soundtracks, but they might be giving priority to brands more "essential" to Nintendo.

edit like five minutes later: i think sometimes this gets overridden if they need smaller osts to fill out a week, but if it's a big drop, it almost certainly must be a cornerstone franchise

@Nintoz I did a double-take when you said ARMS was your guess - I downloaded that soundtrack as an MP3 ages ago, and forgot it wasn't on the app lol! That needs to come ASAP, it's so good!

Animal Crossing: New Leaf is our first release of year two! Darnnit, I was >this< close to changing my guess to New Leaf after my conversation with @Nintoz this morning >_>

New Leaf being the hot pick makes sense here, given they just put out that hourly track feature.
