I will say, it is the only NSMB OST I'd want to listen to at all. Like the game itself, it was charming enough for a one-off, especially at the time, but then kept going for several more games.
@ShieldHero
If I may, I would like to make a suggested contribution to the Shed man Lore:
The higher ups sent him to the shed as a form of Oidashibeya (translates as expulsion room but worth looking up if unfamiliar) after he dared to say Pikmin was overrated in front of Miyamoto.
Delighted they went in completely the opposite direction to what we predicted XD @CaleBoi25
As it was your only guess and it was so out of left field I will give it to you if a couple others are happy for me to.
As for my console based wishlist.
NES: Yoshi
SNES: Super Metroid
Gameboy: Link's Awakening
N64: Conker's Bad Fur Day (sorry MM I love you too)
GBA: Metroid Zero Mission
GameCube: Twilight Princess
DS: Spirit Tracks?
Wii: Xenoblade Chronicles
3ds: Shadows of Valentia? Probably the toughest one to call for me as there are so many
Wii U: Ambiguous as to whether Bayonetta 2 is eligible so Smash 4.
Switch: Xenoblade (hard to pick between 2 and 3).
Switch 2: Mario Kart World
@AJWolfTill, that's an awesome add-on. Also, I wouldn't be upset at all if @CaleBoi25 gets points, I think he was close enough.

My top 5 favorite games:
1: Pokémon Violet
2: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
3: Animal Crossing New Horizons
4: Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
5: The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
@AJWolfTill
NSMBW as a jokingly contrarian guess is way too close to being on-the-nose to not at least acknowledge it. Maybe give @CaleBoi25 a half a point?

Bill Trinen on Mario Kart World joining Nintendo Music: “I can’t go into too much detail, but I can say that it does actually take time and work to prepare soundtracks for Nintendo Music. And that soundtrack is particularly robust. It’s a matter of looking at the calendar and saying whether something might fit in or not. We’ve certainly heard that people are eager to see that on Nintendo Music.”
Well at least they're aware, hopefully we won't have to wait too long...and by that I mean years.
@Nintoz
Thank you for sharing! That's a fairly typical non-answer, but it's also by far the most transparency we've ever gotten regarding this app, lol. Glad to know that they're at least thinking about what's under demand.

I like to imagine that the reason we have yet to get MKWorld on the app is because every song has a screenshot from the game to match, so the poor Guy in the Shed is still stuck driving around Free Roam, just waiting to heard that Dire Dire Docks cover so he can snag a screenshot! 😂
@CaleBoi25
Oh god, maybe he has taken hundreds but Nintendo keep saying that they "don't hear that song when they look at the screenshot". We are never getting this game XD
Just wanted to give the app a lil shout-out as it turns a year old.
I remember this time last year, I was just about to go to bed when I saw the news and I was inexplicably ecstatic.
As a Nintendo music nerd, I was always going to be hyped for this app regardless of how they would approach it because it would be the first time Nintendo actually starts taking their music seriously (outside of the odd CD release here and there.)
I don't use the app as often as I'd like to but even so, it's been nice to receive consistent additions and trying to guess them here every week. No matter how off the mark we usually are, but then it wouldn't be much fun would it? Ahaha
Tbh, I've not touched half of the main systems for the actual Nintendo Classics but I've listened to at least 25 hours worth of Nintendo music on this.
I don't need t play a ton of NSO games because I have so many non-NSO games to play, but Nintendo music as a nice, small part of my week is just the right thing to justify regularly using it in a way that doesn't get in the way of any other hobby at all. Granted, I'd never pay for it on its own, because its easy to find game OSTs online, but as an extra on a service I'm already paying for, its perfect.
I've always had other ways to listen to Nintendo Music, but I love this app. I've listened to it at work, in the car, or even went to bed with it. Sure, there's still so many games to go and I'm surprised about a few classics that are still missing a whole year later, but what's been here so far has always provided me a good-enough time.
Paper Mario TTYD has been the biggest recent highlight for me (my top five are Rogueport, Rogueport Underground, X-Naut Fortress- First Floor, Supportive Voices from Afar, and An Awfully Long Time Ago, BTW) and even just listening to a few tracks from the upcoming Kirby Air Riders has been a little treat.
It might be unlikely, but I would love to see Nintendo Music as a Switch app.
I remember my family being on a short vacation in late October last year, in the State of Washington to see extended family for the first time in years. On October 30, 2024, we rode on two airplanes in the morning and afternoon to get there (my first time riding an airplane, btw). When we finally arrived at the Airbnb in the late afternoon, I connected my phone to the internet and checked out Nintendo Life, since I hadn't checked it all day (this was when I was still lurking and hadn't made my account yet, btw). I saw an article that had just released an hour prior: an article about a shadowdropped Nintendo music app. I swear my jaw dropped as I tapped on the article with excitement. After reading the article and some of the article's comments, I immediately went to the Google Play Store and downloaded the app, connected it to my Nintendo Account and started listening. I've listened to music on that app at least a little bit every week since then and still have the app downloaded on my phone. 😃
For me, the only two things that they could make better about the app are crediting the composers and integrating the app onto Switch / Switch 2 so it can be used for home menu music.

Well that's pretty anticlimactic for an update that was announced ages ago. Cute addition, although it doesn't benefit me as someone who isn't interested in Animal Crossing. (Blasphemous, I know!)
Regarding reminiscing about the app for the first anniversary (wall of text ahead):
I remember logging onto Youtube a year ago, and doing a massive double take when I saw "Introducing Nintendo Music" show up in my feed. "Oh, just some mobile app news... wait, what is THAT???" Nintendo had been so aggressive about not releasing its music properly up until this point that I had given up hope that they would ever collect all of their music in one spot like this.
Of course, they went about it in the most "Nintendo" way possible, which is good and bad: instead of just dumping everything on Spotify, they decided to lock it behind their own service. (I have a brother who was quite irked by this by the way, because he no longer plays games or pays for NSO but still wanted to listen to some tunes.) It's annoying that its not integrated, but it's been really great to have everything in one place - I've added so many songs to my playlist that I would have completely overlooked if Nintendo's audio was still stuck with Youtube hobbyists.
But then there's also Nintendo's annoying drip-feed strategy - the app was bafflingly inadequate at launch, with just a couple of dozen games and a rather random selection at that. Thankfully, Nintendo has been consistent about uploading weekly, and by now has quadrupled the number of albums since launch (or tripled if you count that batch of NES stuff together). There's still plenty of weird omissions (Super Metroid, Majora, Twilight Princess, Xenoblade, 3D World... Classic Pokémon!), but the app no longer feels desolate. Can you believe that the app only launched with 3 mainline Mario games!?
I knew that this app was right up my alley as soon as I heard about it, but I had no idea just how much I would end up using it. My usage was gradual at first, a couple of hours a week, but eventually I started listening to my playlist whenever I was idling. I've probably put hundreds of hours into this app by now, and my playlist has 442 tracks that runs for 17 hours. It only gets better with more variety as they add more games! (There's consistently been too much Mario on it since the start though, lol.) The new drop every week has become something to look forward to after a long Monday as well.
The app has plenty of room for improvement though, I won't pretend otherwise. Transparency is a big issue, as is the albums with inexplicably missing tracks. There's a lot of opportunities for great features that Nintendo hasn't taken yet, and I cannot understand why this app has not been integrated with the Switch (2) yet. I think that last point will happen someday tbh. But I've overall been greatly enjoying this little app, and I hope Nintendo continues to improve it beyond simply adding more albums to it. (Which to be fair, is still the app's biggest shortcoming - Nintendo has such a huge library to pull from!)
I remember downloading this app day-one on my tablet to use during school assignments, and the first thing I did when I upgraded from a flip phone was to get Nintendo Music! It's got so many great tracks, and I have a ton of playlists. It's great!
First guess of the app's second year, let's goooooo!
Although... dang, I don't have any good guesses this week. I can't come up with anything specific, and all of my usual "whatever" guesses don't work because of recent releases. The biggest guess I can hazard is something Zelda-related, to coincide with Hyrule Warriors this week. So I'll just throw Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess out there as my weak copium predictions, let's see if either manages to stick.
...Oh, the original Hyrule Warriors itself would also be a good guess. So I'll put that out there as well.
