Nothing, really.
I have bought everything I want on Wii U and 3DS many years ago

But what about games you don't know you want yet? To me the bigger concern is not what games I'd like to play now but ones I have an interest in the future.

So say Persona finally gets ported to Nintendo so then a bunch of people will have renewed interest in Persona Q.
Or if someone overlooked how awesome Star Fox Guard is (because Star Fox Zero sucked) and sees a random youtube channel talking about underrated Nintendo games.
Or someone on the forum talks about how Codename STEAM and Ever Oasis were Nintendo's best new franchises that didn't take off so you want to try them out.
Or if someone just started playing Fire Emblem on the Switch and now wants to check out Awakening which was a big milestone of the franchise.
Or someone who enjoyed Metroid Dredd now wants to try Metroid: Samus Returns.
Or someone played Luigi's Mansion 3 and now wants to play 1 & 2.
Or someone who just played SMT5 want to play Strange Journey and 4.
etc

Not everyone was around during the 3DS/Wii U era, so newer fans who want to try older games and folk just getting into new franchises/genres they don't know they like yet are fudged.

@Eel I'm not sure, I don't think I've ever been aware of it happening, but I hardly ever buy DLC on 3DS. Thanks though, I'll buy it soon in that case.

@Eel I know NSMB2 dlc was on sale. I bought them all.

Edit. I could be wrong but maybe a celebratory discount

I might buy the stupidly overpriced DLC for Fire Emblem Echoes, but I can also do without (I bought all of the DLC for Awakening and Fates).

On Wii U, I'll probably hoard a bunch of GBA/DS/N64 VC games.

I got Drill Dozer, Game & Watch Gallery 3, Mole Mania, and Wario Land 2 and 3. Quite the good haul, I think! There's still some more games I wanna get, I'll get them as soon as I can.

@1UP_MARIO Huh, I don't remember NSMB2's DLC being on sale. I do remember the Gold Classics Pack was free to download for a time. I got a few DLC course packs back when the game was pretty new (including the Gold Classics Pack that I did get for free), but not all of them.

@MarioLover92 I’m not 100% sure but you could be right. It must of been a launch discount or discount when bought 3 packs together.

I'd only gotten the Wii U last christmas secondhand and I've been rather frugal with my 3DS titles. When I heard the store's closing, I got busy and made myself a monthly purchase plan for games on the platforms.
My Wii disc library has already doubled and I've gotten a fair few DS and 3DS carts already, along with dozens of digital games for 3DS and Wii U.

I'd planned out the titles by desirability in four classes. I've already got all the 1s and about half of 2s. 4s are for early next year. Plan is to get as many exclusives as possible so I wouldn't have to emulate them at a later point in time. I do deviate from the order when I spot a discount posted on PSPrices or Deku Deals. And I eliminate items from the list if there's a port or remake on PC or Switch.

I've gotten most of the Etrian games, Trauma Center games, Xenoblade Chronicle X...

So pretty much the only things left are B-list titles, obscure games, retro ports and enhanced remakes/remasters. And that's still over a hundred titles.

Off the top of my head I think there are a few Megami Tensei metaseries titles, Metroid Prime Trilogy and that haunted spaceship game for 3DS that stand out. I'm pensive about the Fatal Frame game for Wii U.
