@Anti-Matter yeah I get it, it’s just not the first time that one of those actors complained about this movie. But I’m not going to continue if you or any one else won’t. Also I kinda just wanted to put it out there. Yeah I’m short I agree.
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!

@Dev9417 I was surprised to see Mario didn't like mushroom in the movie considering he had to eat mushroom from question blocks to get Power Up. Also, it was nice to see the brotherhood of Mario and Luigi in the movie compared with the games version.
Thanks for replying my question.
Complaining about the race of the voice actor not matching the character, despite the fact his own race (Latino) didn't match Mario (Italian) for the movie he was in.
What a clown. Some people are obsessed with race- they interject it into everything, in this case using it to mask his own jealousy.

@JaxonH yep, can't stand the guy. The same guy who was irate James Franco got cast to play Fidel Castro( not Latino as Leguizamo states), is the same guy who got cast to play an Italian-American(who's not italian-american). Love when people talk out of both sides of their mouth.
I would love to see in 4DX, but I'm not driving to Milwaukee for it.
3D is good enough for me. Got a theater here in Watertown, but it's pretty lame. We always drive to the AMC theater 10 min away in Johnson Creek (which, the town is 10x smaller than the one I live in at around 3500 people, but it has a massive outlet mall and huge theater, not sure why- I guess it gets business from all surrounding towns, and is literally right off the interstate).

The movie has been doing well in the box office so far with $377 million in total, this is illumination and nintendo's biggest film of 2023 so far. Also another big year for Universal too.

@Jac_Clow012 I hope that the success of the movie doesn’t make them invest to much into movies because I’d take a new Mario game over a new Mario Movie
The people making the movie are Illumination, who exclusively make movies and aren't part of Nintendo. So it doesn't matter how many movies they crank out- it won't have any affect on games, which are developed internally at Nintendo EAD. They've got so many billions of dollars as a cushion, money invested will never become a bottleneck constraint (in other words, they're never going to "run out" of money that would have funded a game).
The two are completely separate. You can rest assured that games developed by Nintendo and movies released by Illumination as a partner have nothing to do with each other.

If anything the success of the movie is going to mean more games. A rising tide raises all boats. Nintendo are going to almost surely see a boost in Switch sales as a result of this and specifically Mario related titles. More sales? More market capacity for more Mario games. The fact that there's a Mario themed sale on the eShop ATM isn't a coincidence

Just got back from watching the Super Mario Bros. Movie in 3D!
Sonic ran & Tetris cleared the way so Mario could jump for the (Super) Stars.
Seriously though, this is hands down the best VGM ever made. I know that's not a high bar to clear, but it was more fun than I could have ever imagined. It's not deep & they don't really bother to explain why things in the Mushroom Kingdom work the way they do (floating blocks, power ups, etc), but it's honestly better that way and let's them get right down to it. Everything is lovingly crafted, the cast is fun to be with (Mario & DK are the best "frenemies" ever), and the various nods to series' (& Nintendo) history constantly brought a smile to my face. Really, even my mother who doesn't really have any knowledge with the series past the SNES came away having a good time with it.
3D was fan-frickin'-tastic too. I've always heard that animated films tend to transition to the format better than most live action films (sans the stuff filmed in 3D like Avatar), and based on this I'd have to agree. It was constantly a feast for the eyes, whether it be a series of pipes bursting in a bathroom or an army of Dry Bones emerging from the ground (to name a couple of early film moments).
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
People online think we are instantly getting a bunch of nintendo franchise movie adaptations, a whole cinematic universe. They are also incredibly stupid and don’t understand how long it takes to conceptualize and create a whole movie. They are so stupid it hurts
This movie and the Sonic one is sparking video game adaptations left and right I believe since the mario movie came out I have heard announcements about a half life movie,a fnaf movie and a mincraft movie
