Greg Johnson's HUMANATURE studio has just announced his next game. For those unaware, he is the co-creator of Toejam and Earl and current owner of the rights. I love TJ&E, so this is very exciting to me.
It is called Dancing With Ghosts and looks like a kickstarter will launch soon!
Dancing with Ghosts is a wholesome, interactive-narrative with a compelling, heartfelt story full of charm and humor. The interactive narrative is set within the chill, sim-type gameplay of a living village. Players play the role of Mai, a 15-year-old Thai girl who feels lost and overcome with guilt because of the death of her parents. Mai meets an 11 year old ghost, who has lost her memory and who is trapped in this world.
He unfortunately lost his home not long ago in the fires in Hawaii, so it's great to see him getting back on his feet. Reading the blurb, it sounds like this will be quite a personal game to him. He is married to a Thai woman and very immersed in island living.
No mention of a platform, but I would presume Switch seems likely.
The illustrations look great and I'm sure that this will be a beautiful game. I guess that we'll have to wait for its release, but I'll keep an eye on it. I hope that you're right and they release it for Switch.
The Kickstarter campaign and complete game details are now live! Currently, the reward system is exclusive to STEAM, but the aim for a console release is specifically the Nintendo Switch. 😁
I asked if there could be a Switch release code tier too, even if it means waiting a longer time. Probably unlikely, but you never know unless you ask.
