Hi everyone, I'm new here, having created an account as im at a loss for what more i could do and thought it may be worth it to see if anyone could help me who may have had similar issues.

My Nintendo Switch constantly crashes or freezes when docked. I get the software has been closed error or a visual crash while the sound plays, however this only ever happens while docked. and the software issue only happens when i either switch the console from portable play to docked or when starting up from cold. i know this to be true as ive replicated the issue for myself numerous times, the second time you boot the game from a crash it will either work indefinitely until you undock it or switch the console off or will crash and then work again perfectly fine.
Ive considered that maybe it was overheating but when the game doesn't crash Ive purposefully stressed tested the console by going to demanding scenes or playing for very long periods of time and none of these moments have resulted in the console crashing.

though there are other weird moments ive experienced, sometimes while downloading or during sleep mode the console has crashed with the error code 2168 0002 and recently when i connected the joycon to the console while docked i got a 2011 0301 error.

however the strangest thing of all is that ive never encountered these issues during portable play, not once. I live in a country where repairs for nintendo consoles arnt easy to come by so ive been trying to look for solutions myself, i was starting to think that it might be the dock but i don't want to invest in buying a new one if it's the hardware itself as I'm fairly strapped for cash at the moment.

any tips or recommendations are appreciated

@Linkbetweencrashes If nintendo support directions can't solve something, that's a very good sign there's hardware failure somewhere that requires repair, or replacement. The nintendo support site can tell you what your error codes mean, and possibly a solution. Just plug the error codes into the search bar. The site yields results for most error code searches.

Here are the results for the two codes you mentioned:

2168-0002 https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a...

2011-0301 https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a...

You'll notice one says to hold the power button down longer than the other for a more thorough reboot. For virtually all troubleshooting, they always say make sure the console is updated. "Reset the AC adapter" is a solution for a wide array of weird issues that sometimes happen with the Switch. I'm not sure it's relevant here, but I thought I'd mention it.
