Topic: Nes classic final fantasy 1 bug or problem

I have defeated Astos one the north west castle and I was suppose receive the crystal eye to give to matoya but I did not. At this point, this is a serious bugged problem that either stops my game from progressing or am I wrong in reading that I was suppose to receive the matoya crystal from astos after defeating him?

Hmmm if I remember correctly it should be under key items in your inventory.

Are you sure you didn't get it? Keep in mind it may have a different name.

As tasuki said, check your key items.

Actually solved his problem: as it turns out , "you can not have one character die during your match against astos to receive the crystal eye". I ended up going back from a save point earlier and re did the match without dying and was able to get the crystal now.
